Ever since the chat filters went online, I noticed that (on Asura at least) the number of RMT tells have decreased.
Now its been days since I got one.
Maybe they gave up, maybe they got tired of the number of tells they got from me, or maybe Square Enix actually did something right....

Korpg, RMT Slayer Extraordinaire! I don't even have the chat filter on. When I played all day/night the other day I got only 1 RMT tell. I usually get the most about 4 a whole day/night.

I still get them at least a few times a day, even with the filter on. Although they use puzzles now that look something like this(too bad the filter doesn't block poor grammar):
"Hello friend, gi1 and p1 service @ qqq.dr0gam3.c0m 1=l, q=w, d=b, 0=o, 3=e. Have nice day please!" Probably depends on the server and peak time etc.
What baffles me though is how RMT activity is so heavy in a game that is in its sunset stages so to speak.

But I did notice I have got a significantly less amount of RMT tells since the filter was added. Meaning they're on their last limb in a really piss poor attempt to have a foundation of gil to upscale the prices on their site from minimal compensation given to supposed "customers". Why do these tells even bother people? It honestly isn't even a big deal at all. Just ignore them like you would ignore idiots shouting in whitegate, it isn't very hard.
Well sometimes I like to nap while waiting for slowga people to get there ***together so I wait for the chime to let me know people are ready or need me. Hard to ignore random tell then

Stop rubbing salt in the wound! :D Aww Wooooodum lol since the chime was annoying I sent a GM call in every time they (rmt) sent me a tell... i had like 300 calls lol I wonder if the GMs hate me and that why they started to stop even sending the auto msg.
I think I get about four or five a day, depending how long I'm logged in for. Sometimes from the same person, so people really don't care to report them anymore.
Garuda is a characteristically small server, however, so the low amount of tells might be a combination of the filter working and of them not targetting the server due to its lower population (smallest!) |
