I've been playing FFXI for 5 years, started back in 2004, took 3 years before I saw one with my own eyes lolol.. but after my first encounter with one, I started running into them all the time o_o.. Spur of the moment, so I usually forget to take screenshots. :x



The first time I saw [GM]Iskaldor, was on my main character Sergee.



And again on my mule Jollygiant lolol..

I've only ever seen 2 GM, once when I got stuck in a wall in upper delkfutt and once in jueno. Never scn capped them though. I want they're glowy gearz though.

Sry for copying the whole thing.. Lazyiness on my part, I've seen this guy in Caitsith or he dropped in to say hi I suppose. Only a few times I saw a few [GM]'s were to confirm I was stuck in Kazham where I fell down int he water in the town and had to be moved. The other time I guess was on Bastok Markets just scanning the zone I guess... musta been brooding aroubd looking for a person or to see how the zone was reacting to specific environments I suppose =/ <shrugs>....

might be small, and its just a convo i had with a gm back in the day when gil was a really big issue. i bought an aquillos staff meaning to bid on austers (400kish differnce at the time, i think). might be really small too, i dunno yet.



tl;dr?
he told me what i had already assumed. he told me his fishing pole could fish up vrtra, which he played poker with once a week, had a really good poker face, and was a sore loser. then said when chuck norris loses, he wins or something to that effect. and he gave me a hug.

When you have a good conversation like that, you know a GM is so totally real and down with public interaction. Thoase are the type of Gm's you'd wish they would show more in person and just hang out with and have a good time in game....really..

also I thought I would post this b.c its all about Gms in this thread...

No screenshot but a few years back a GM showed up in Yuhtunga Jungle when a THF in my party dumped a train of mobs on another party because they were camping on us. He told us to stop basically but it was still pretty cool, I think it was my first GM encounter.

I have talked with GMs a number of times but have only seen them twice. The first time was during a promvy run back when I was still a new player, as seen in the picture below.



The second time was while soloing in Sauromugue Champaign, the GM was talking with another character. I got to check them and see the name/stats of some of their gear- which was kinda cool. Alas my screenshots folder was 200/200 so I could not get a shot that time. >_<

I heard once about some taru who got stuck under the floor in Kazham. The GM appeared but wouldn't let him back up until he did the taru dance.

No wow factor to me, esp if GM/SGM. However have to admit that seeing a Lead GM is pretty rare. Had to take a screenie :d

in Al Zahbi. He showed up out of the blue after helping us with some rmt earlier just to chat for hell of it and see how things went after he left. GM Emdub - really cool.



helping with rmt trying to box us out of our camp. They took off as fast as cockroaches running for cover and never came back.

I has several GM encouters none I no longer have the screenshots off. One was my first ban... friend got on my account and started spamming shouts in Jeuno.

Second was way back in 07 when i got married in game.. the GM had full HQ noble's... w/e it's called and two bastok rings.... tripped me out cuz they are r/e.

Third was when I server swapped and the wedding ring name had to be changed... A lead GM came out and changed the name for me in about 5 min.
