Clearing V20s-V25s

Seems like no one does these fights anymore, did everyone just get 1 clear and move on because they are too challenging? Is there hope for anyone playing to clear these things on a server thats not asura?

If you have to ask, probably not.

If you have the slightest amount of initiative, probably.

Nope, it was another content they didn't really think thru. The cheese method is what everyone does to cap points after the initial clear, so they don't do the clears again. So the pool of people willing/needing this content shrinks over time, just like some older content in the old days.

While it's true that people who have the clear are not incentivized to do it again (very much), there are constantly new players joining the game and they need the clears, so it's not exactly impossible to find someone to clear ***with.

The biggest problem is motivation and organization. Plus loads of people, probably like OP, want to go straight from ambu gear to V20 T3 fights. You can, ya know, do V5. Then V10, V15, and then you'll have lots of experience for the V20 fight.

But I guess most new players are just sitting on their hands waiting for a veteran with full V25 clears to carry them straight through V20+ so...yeah, lack of motivation and initiative are the biggest impediments

and the cost, yes of course i would like to fast track clears, your mentality is exactly why mercs run this game. You want incentive to play the game. "I have V25s but i need some good suc suc to help"

With all due respect, you have absolutely no *** idea about me. I've gotten dozens of people clears, probably hundreds by now. I've never told anyone i won't bring them into fights, help them with fights, share strategies, gear sets, and I post videos and stream attempts. I run a linkshell and a discord, answer questions on this site and reddit, and regularly give away gear to new players.

If you think I'm not doing enough to help new players succeed, you're high as ***.

I would argue the fights can be easier now due to gear creep and established/shared knowledge and strategies. Yes, finding people who still need clears (and can meaningfully participate) or those who are willing to help despite not needing it can be a challenge. I think what Maletaru is getting at is that you may have an easier time building a static to climb Vengeance levels and grow over time as a group as opposed to randomly jumping straight into the more challenging levels. As with anything else in this game, it's about who you know and what connections you have.

The fights are significantly easier with all the new gear that was added, MLs etc. It's also hard to argue the game isn't popular now, when servers are being locked down for overpopulation. There are a dozen videos from 5 different perspectives for every fight. I'm not really seeing how recent players are facing significantly more challenge than the "veterans" did back when the content came out.

People really think when V25 was released there were constantly shout groups clearing V25 Ongo with randos on the first attempt.

You have to work on your character, practice, and build familiarity/communication with your group.

Unfortunately, as these attitudes spread, more and more people just "woe is me" themselves into believing it's society's fault after a week of not being carried and then:
Merc the clear, convinced it's the only thing they need to be a leet gamer
Quit
Start 6 botting

It's way too much work and effort to put in. I play a handful of jobs that I can contribute. May or may not be top tier, but we should be able to win and get by with it. I remember this with delve, but there was an incentive to clear the thing. This ppl just want to do hp down with a bst after they clear once. Its like finding a group for Aeonics.

V20/25 Gaol fights are not for PUGs. You normally won't see shouts for them, because PUGs can't clear them.

You can find this by digging through other threads about each NM or Ody in general. They've been stated a few times over the years. You can use the search function to find them and maybe even find some other info to help you out in getting your wins accomplished.

ALso, I'm not sure if things sound different in your head when you're typing, or if you know you're being a bit of a ***or not, but like... you're being a bit of a ***.

While I agree that OP was a bit too adversarial to the responses and I don't deny that you've made tons of contributions to the community, it's also a bit silly to assume that players who multibox are automatically removing themselves from the pool of players who would join a static.

I've been working my way through 6boxing the v25s myself (some with the strats you shared), and I'm having plenty of fun. If none of the tools that would allow me to do this existed, would I then go try to join a static to clear them that way? Probably not. I already have a static in another game (XIV), I just want to enjoy playing a game by myself.

As Buukki stated, there's tons of hurdles required to make that work out (scheduling, coordination, organization, etc.). 2/3/6/whatever boxing also has its own hurdles, but at the end of the day it's just two (very) different ways to play the game. People enjoy this game in many different ways for many different reasons.

In what is basically a 20+ year old sandbox, "look at that guy not carrying me and building my sandcastle for me" and "look at that guy building a sandcastle by himself, that's one less person who could be building sandcastles with a group" are both pretty weird.

If you wanted actual results you were better off offering what jobs and experience you have that you can bring to a v20 v25 fight. Because you cant really be carried in those fights.

Put together your own groups if you're not seeing the shouts you want to see. It's pretty easy to spring board off of Empyrean +2/3 and base level Ody gear that you can get from V1 clears into getting V15 clears if you've got a V15 sherpa.

If you don't, it's just Segs and patience. I see shouts often on Bahamut with folks asking for an access person to skip ahead for a specific armor set.
