Hello All,
Started running Sortie on PLD looking for any advice if possible.
Right now I have been full timing Sakpatas Sword and Aegis are any other shields useful on bosses?
I am also locking in SIRD gear during boss fights should I be in SIRD gear all boss fights and pretty much just there for the cures and to tank and not worry about dmg?
Thanks for any tips or tricks.

SIRD is going to do veeery little for most sortie bosses. Most bosses have magical melee hits, and magic hits don't interrupt spellcasting.

Degei/Aita/Skomora/Triboulex/Aminon are 100% magical melee attacks. No need for SIRD.

Ghatjot/Dhartok/Leshon/Gartel have one physical melee hit. And of those I'd really only have any concern about Leshon/Gartel maybe interrupting.

holycircle/Sepulcher C/G boss. use fealty on G. I actively try to do DPS on all bosses, everybit helps.

I use stage 3 duban/burtgang, and use exca/aegis on Aminon, Burt/srvista on kiting F/H.

Edit: if you are /sch and doing 9 boss where cor/brd are using savage just stack all the buffs you can on them. firestorm/regen1/klimaform/aquaveil/holy circle/stoneskin etc.

i first started doing 8boss on pld with sakpata's/aegis - i do switch to Duban when getting D topfloor objective just oos of the way my group does it, I end up pulling and holding a bunch of fomors while everyone else SCs (this is also the only point where I'll use my SIR set). Once I got Burtgang it's just Burt/Aegis.

Obviously Excal/Aegis for Aminon.

HolyCircle and Sepulcher as stated on C/G - Holy Circle also works to give everyone an extra buff in case Leshonn is in WindHands so there's more buffs to potentially get stolen. Also recommend Accession Firestorm and Aquaveil for those extra buffs too, and firestorm may help COR dps on A/E/C/G if they are using HotShot.

I don't worry about contributing DPS really but I do engage and WS on all bosses we don't kite.

I use Fealty before going in if Leshonn is ThunderHands so I don't get stunned a bunch at the beginning, and you can also do the same with Tribolouex since he will stun at the beginning sometimes.

For Gartell specifically I just always stay 20+ away even on the initial pull so that he doesn't ever have a chance to do any TP moves since getting one of our songs stolen there means we're down a buff until CC comes back up. Not a huge deal but this can really make a difference if you're trying to squeeze in 9boss

I do lots of weapon swaps: (probably overkill but I try to squeeze as much out as possible)

Excal/Duban at the start for doing D objective. Seraph > RLB > Flat > Savage > KoR.

After D (depending on DD) I swap to Burt/Svrista for kiting H. Overkill but damage doesn't matter and losing hate is the only possible issue.

After H its Reikiko/Duban (or Aegis) for doing CBA bosses.

Once down in F I swap to Burt/Aegis for kiting and leave that on through G and E.

Excal/Aegis for Aminon.

Tips: I banish2 C/G plus the mentioned JAs. Save SP1 incase you need to blow it for a bad bitzer. Tank G at 5.5 and have your teammates stand at max distance on the other side. If you are doing Naaks/Flans after Aminon save Sentinel after WC during Aminon for quick snap hate after the mobs are tagged. PLD can do respectable damage on Aminon don't sleep on your contribution.
