I meant in terms of execution, play style, co-ordination and knowing when to back off.

Yeah, mnk is a simple job.

But you guys are co-ordinating chi-blasts, need to monitor tp return from absorbs on when to back off, alternating WSs to not wall each other and so forth.

It's a lot going on, and as soon as you have co-ordination that needs some practice so it's not something I expect a pickup group to be able to do first try.

the abs-TP thing is actually much less of an issue as penance mnk TP feed is absurdly low, like single digits iirc since base h2h TP feed is already stupid low. Now when penance goes away then it's a concern but that just goes back to not attacking when penance is down.

I wouldnt call having 2 people alternating a JA that should be off CD as soon as the last one wears if i remember my timers correctly being hard to execute compared to say a DNC SP2 combo

Wouldn't a standard Aminon group need to do this as well anyways? This is not totally unique to MNK strat. You still need to coordinate absorbs and WSs in standard Aminon so you don't overfeed TP. Alternating WS on MNK should be easy, no? You have access to Footwork, so Dragon and Tornado Kick becomes available, Howling Fist and Raging Fists are available, and Victory Smite. That doesn't seem like much of an issue either?

I wasn't saying this is something a completely new PUG could execute (but that also applies to the DNC or DRK or w/e methods). I was simply wondering if there was something unique to this strategy that would make it harder or trickier to pull off vs the standard strat with DNC and supports. Doesn't really seem too dissimilar?

The amount of TP absorbed doesn't actually influence whether we slow down damage or not since I'm already triple boxing 2 of the Absorbers along with a MNK, so that'd be a bit too much for me to keep track of (there are times I wish I never picked up multi-boxing). This is what absorbs on my COR looked like for 1 fight, though.
There's plenty of absorbs over the ideal 12-13 second split, so a group of 3 real people properly spacing absorbs better than I can shouldn't have much of an issue keeping TP under control.

If tp is at 3000 and you cast aborbtp
Does it still absorbtp and just not show it?
Like aspir?

Or do you need to keep spending the TP or changing gear

From my memory, you can absorb beyond 3000, you just don't benefit from it beyond the max. Same applies to monsters; ghosts aggro you and their first action is aspir, they obviously have full mp but you still lose mp from their aspir. The difference is you'll see in the log the exact amount you absorb tp for, whether you get it or not. With drain/aspir it only appears to show the amount you gain back and refill your own HP/mp.

It depends what kind of players you're playing with but in my experience, having a real human behind the KB doesn't guarantee you're going to get absorbs on cooldown, and that's with a regular static (which people assume means perfect players for some reason). In a PUG, I would imagine consistency is not a guarantee, though I've never PUG'd Aminon so IDK.

Either way, as an aside...I don't think 12s on COR is possible (or likely?) as it requires 23% FC on COR/DRK which...might be possible, IDK...I certainly don't have it in my set. 13s is probably possible but again, requires absolute perfect execution and never being in the middle of a WS or other action. I wouldn't expect to see exactly 13s casts from anyone who isn't running a bot. Possibly not even from a bot, since the 13s window might just HAPPEN to run into the exact time when you're in the middle of a WS animation.

I give the backline Caster's Roll since they aren't contributing to damage and just throw in enough FC to make sure I'm reaching a 12s recast even on a 1 roll (FC Ambu cape and Carmine Mask +1). I don't think we can afford any TP feed from anyone other than the MNKs. My Absorb TP log above is the result of TP feed from just the 2 MNKs.

Hey Sterk
Is backline > Caster's Roll + Monk's Roll?

My bad didn't see that post
