DC Issues With New Laptop

I recently bought a new laptop and since then have had an odd issue with DCing. I run 2 characters, both on windower, and at varying interval the character that's currently in the background will DC with varying timeout based FFXI- and POL- codes. The other character will be fine. Nine times out of ten it just kicks me back to the character selection screen. It seems to mostly happen when I'm doing other things on the laptop like typing on discord or messing with luas or such like. I have DGVooDoo installed and I know I did that right. Happens on wired and wifi, multiple different wifi connections, with or without a VPN, so I know it's not my service. Any help would be appreciated, I'm at my wits end trying to fix this.
