LFG/Event LS (NA, Eastern)

Returning player, America, Eastern time zone, active after 6PM on weekdays, noonish on weekends. Been puttering around for the past several months, trying to do as much as I can by myself but I've hit a hard wall trying to do several things, so I thought I'd put my flag up here to see what happens.

BTW - I'm not a hardcore player; I'm too old for that nonsense, heh. I just want a group/LS that regularly gets together & does stuff.

What I'm looking to do regularly:

• Omen, Vagary & Sortie - finishing TVR, armor upgrades & other trinkets

• Odyssey - armor & UNM item upgrades

• Limbus - haven't tried the new system yet, but it looks fun

• Geas Fete - soloed some, but obviously can't get the good stuff that way

• Ambuscade - I solo this regularly, but it's painstakingly slow that way

I do Dynamis D every Saturday @ noon with another LS, but I'm open to doing it midweek too.

Jobs I have geared:

• DRK(ML0) - my best geared & favorite job. apoc & ragnarok. several +1 & +2 JSE armor pieces. mostly odyssean & ambu +2 though.

• BLU - just started gearing this. working on naegling because I already have a pulse weapon. all JSE armor is still 109 though. have almost all spells but missing a few crucial ones. probably will go for tizona.

• NIN - used to have a decent NIN before ilvl, now it's just +1 ambu with 1 or 2 109 JSE pieces to swap in. would gear it further if newer content called for it.

Jobs I'm interested in gearing: COR, PUP, RDM & GEO (recently got my golden shovel too and idris looks fun), maybe PLD too. I'd honestly prefer RUN but I don't think I have the skill for that, heh.

You can solo most of Omen and Vagary, doesn't need a LS really. PUG some extra bodies to get into vagary and if you want omen to be less lonely.

You need at least Calad to do Sortie 6/8 boss (noone uses BLU or NIN). Noone will join PUG shouts for AECG now and noone will static 4 bosses.

You need loads of work to be good for Sheol C or Gaes Fete NMs. By loads of work I mean more jobs. COR is used for everything and RDM can be used for most (though RUN+PLD beats binding and sleeping adds on basically everything).

terrible advice overall. most people in ambu gear with some JSE aren't soloing Omen and Vagary.

job diversity is a good tip, but you're trying to fit your version of "good" on to him unnecessarily, which isn't helping.

Bahamut still has a strong scene for new/returning people last I checked, its not Asura yet.

I mean all 3 of those jobs can solo Omen at least up to Gin without insane gear. You could do it with 5/5 R0 Sakpata on DRK probably. Vagary you need to be naked for some not to overdamage, and NIN/SAM can do it if you know the secrets.

"good" is an understatement even for V20 fights, you need to be pretty well geared for them on DD.

Not really, noone does omen or vagary regularly in groups anymore and he needs to gear up for newer content. I'm pretty sure I'm on point. Sorry if saying he needs to get better is offensive to you.

It isn't offensive, it's absurd. People do still make groups for all levels of content, you know. Guy just wants to find people to play with and you have to come ***on him saying he's not good enough until he has bought a Kalunga clear and made a Caladbolg. In and of themselves those milestones are good things, however they are not minimum requirements for the things he wants to do.



For ***'s sake that's exactly what he's trying to do. Did he say anywhere he wants only full clear seg runs and V20 wins out of the gate?

Are you expecting a casual player to farm up a Caladbolg, miraculously kill Kalunga, solo the content that he clearly said he's running into a brick wall wall with... Solo?

I don't think your advice is offensive. It's just stupid.

To OP; if you're interested in server transferring Lakshmi has a guy that does Omen/Vagary daily earlier in the day which you'd probably be able to attend on the weekends. I'd also help you out with getting geared up as well.

I would definitely work on getting your GEO & RDM geared up. Those are very useful and scale well into end game. Cor too, but that's a very popular low entry job that you may be fighting a spot for.

What's stupid is telling someone that apparently wants to do current to server transfer and let a guy do it for him.

Moronic responses holding the guy back or missing the point.

Move to Asura and I'll do it for you. Don't listen to these guys telling you to stay behind for years because they're role players or something bizarre.
