How much do you expect the items to change from +4 to +5 given the change from +3 to +4. I already said it. I consider the jump from +4 to +5 equal to the +3>+4 jump.
+10 HP/MP, +5Def, +1 "skill", +1 MDB, +10 attack, +5 Acc/Macc, etc etc

Why else would they add an NM system? Homam and Nashira equivalents?
The gear is disappointing; though it does bring m.eva up to par. Some of the mage pieces have best in slot m.eva now, not that it's reason enough to use them. Given the content is basically a walk in the park, it seems intentional. I doubt they're going to unseat Sortie/Odyssey gear with things that are totally soloable.
Still a letdown. Both the content and the rewards. Hopefully next patch is more interesting.

Per week doesn't matter when you lose points when you get kicked out?
Two things wrong with that assumption.
You don't get kicked out. There's no timer or arbitrary reason to leave if you don't want to.
You don't lose units(upgrade currency) when leaving, just temp KI progress.
As a side note, floor progress/temp item acquisition seems to be about 7~10 mobs at level 130 for a full party. Alliances work, not sure if required progress scales or not.
You do not gain meter progress when dead.
Sneak/Invis work, Sleep works as expected also. Already seeing people training the rest of the floor to the zone and sleeping them there as soon as they get their KI.
If somebody misses a floor during the crawl, you can just take the elevator straight back to the area/floor the missed and complete their bar. Don't even lose progress unless you exit the zone entirely.

In that case don't need to worry about having to upgrade all the JSEs then.
The gear that was useful before is more useful now. Gear that was less useful due to low meva or whatnot can be usable.
Gear that wasn't useful before remains as-is.
Debatable if something like an AF+4 piece + regal will out-do an Odyssey armor piece + chirich or an earring for mages.
Probably higher acc/macc I would say.

Looks like everything got a nice evasion and magic evasion boost of +25 to +40 which is nice at least compared to the rest of the stat increases

So basically the gear is not super worth seems. Again I think the order they released this stuff is years late. With them adding odyssey gear it way before this stuff came out makes it even more apparent. Enjoy the content for the content not for the gear.

I'm just gonna say it:
These data mining threads are bad, posting every single piece of gear in a patch is bad. One of the things XI endgame players like to do is figure this stuff out and post the loot, and people posting pictures etc. When you make a data mining thread and just do it with tools outside of the game, you're robbing the community of finding the stuff out naturally over the coming days.
Someone like Velner, or whoever should be posting pics. Not someone with dat mining tools.
This is like having a scavenger event, and someone comes along and posts everything in all the chest an hour after it's announced and before anyone even put their shoes on to go hunt.
Something people always complain about is "the game is already solved!" etc, that's what this is. This is why devs of games normally find ways to stop players doing this stuff, and they are probably doing it here too by staggering the quality of the rewards based on NM kills too. In effect the reason the gear has no stats, is cause they know you're gonna do it and they want to hide it for a while.
At the very least, stuff like this should wait a few days before posting everything new in the patches. This instant desire to solve everything and post everything without even stepping foot into the game, with outside tools is not a positive thing when it's done to this level over and over. Most people who even say they want this and read it, don't really want it cause it's ruining the fun of finding the stuff out naturally over the coming days.
There is no mystery to anything, cause you're so fixated with exposing everything there is within 2 hours of the patch dropping. As I said, most people will say they want it and be mad I'm saying this but it's still ruining any new content added to the game.
This is like a new single player game coming out, and someone staying up late to spoil everything. Just cause you can see all this stuff, doesn't mean you should be doing it. MMO players have zero self control, so they will eat this stuff up and then be disappointed there is no surprise or anything mysterious.

Hear me out…. If you want the surprise don’t read the threads. Let people post the findings for us who would like to see them and plan.

MMO players have zero self control, so they will eat this stuff up and then be disappointed there is no surprise or anything mysterious. This is not about me it's about the community, and in effect Funk wants the dopamine hit from finding all this stuff out before anyone else.
At least wait a few days so others can get some fun trying to find the stuff out, holy crap.
Everyone complains about this on every game, wiki pages get a lot of backlash solving everything this way too. There was a recent issue where someone gave an early review code and they also worked on a wiki and posted all the secrets before the game was even out.

It is literally a thread for this information, don't read it nothing forced your hand here, google didn't magically bring you here. You willing chose to come, read the first page knew the information lied ahead, clicked on a link that revealed said information, then complained. That's 100% on you. Your comment about some other game being spoiled b4 release isn't even relevant cause you're complaining about dat miners and not players, but in this case the player was the problem. Also non of the information in this is hidden or discoverable. u walk in, talk to the npc, and all the information is given to you. No secrets, no surprises, it would take 10min in game tops to get all this info the dat mine gave, which also makes your "point" irrelevant. This isn't 14 where story get spoiled by mounts, minions, there isn't a secret way to find stuff that hasn't been discovered outside of dat mines, like quite literally there are 0 spoilers in this thread. Considering the English patch notes say that this zone works in pretty much the opposite way it does, things like this are more useful then harmful.

It's not an assumption. This is what the patch notes tell you. It's a translation error as usual.

I know what it is, I'm talking to Funk. I'm asking him to have some self control and wait a couple of days, so others can try figure stuff out and these kinds of threads are enjoyable for the community. Let other people have some glory.
Instead of him telling everything with tools day 1, he isn't even figuring this stuff out by playing as everyone else does. He is just using tools.
It does not matter if I or someone else doesn't click the thread (for the record this stuff doesn't bother me, but I know this kind of secret and mystery is fun to others), it's no longer a mystery for the community and that is robbing some fun from the everyone so one person working on a wiki can get the dopamine hit. Which is exactly what it is btw, i know how wiki people minds work.
By Asura.Disclai 2025-06-10 06:42:42
These upgrades wouldn't be less bad, nor people less disappointed, if they discovered things "naturally" rather than via datamining.
It's asinine to complain about "spoilers" when (1) nothing here is story-related or anything a reasonable person would want to experience blind, and (2) you're here voluntarily. Want that organic sense of discovery? Go have it.
It sucks that SE squandered people's excitement for this patch, especially off the resurgence from the Bonanza weapons, but it is what it is. No need to whine about the negativity when it's earned. Extricate yourself if it's bumming you out.

Once he puts it out there it's ruined for everyone, look at it or not it's still ruined in general. There are people who really enjoy finding this stuff out, by playing the game and he is robbing them of the joy and praise of finding it. So he can get the dopamine hit instead.
Wiki nerds ruin online games, cause they can't wait and have to get all the praise themselves.

... what? datamining has been MMO culture for the better part of 20 years at this point - part of the ride is hyping up for the disappointment. sure, the thread may not have a spoiler tag, but he's done enough of these threads at this point that i feel like you should know what you're getting into when you click on it...

Surely people weren't genuinely expecting more significant upgrades than this right off the bat? Not sure I understand where the disappointment is coming from otherwise. The upgrades look fine, in line with what I expected given the lack of NMs at this stage and how easy - relatively - it should be to upgrade to them.

Knowing everything about the game is bad for the game.
The wikis are bad for the game. Dat mining is bad for the game. Forums are bad for the game. Guides are bad for the game. VOD are bad for the game.
When you know everything you have nothing to find and you know before you do it that you don't want to do it.
But the cat is out of the bag. The genie can't be put back in the bottle. You can't unfuck that goat.

Hottest hot take. The NPC literally lets you scroll through all the stats and read them; you didn't have to upgrade the piece to see what's on it. The only difference is that instead of someone spending a couple hours screenshotting 22*5*2 pieces of gear and uploading them meticulously, the dat parser dumps it into a nice format instantly. We still would've known all the pieces by now.
I don't see it as funk looking for a dopamine hit, either. Nobody even thanks him most of the time. It's a service that he performs that helps the game out. If he didn't do it, someone else would. The dats aren't some mystery; there are open source tools to decode them.
By K123 2025-06-10 06:55:07
Still don't know how the event works (I let my accounts close yesterday in expectation this was going to be ***).
You can earn up to 50k points per week, 100k cap if you don't use them?
How many can you make per hour?
Do you need to rise to top floor to use the upgrader?
Also realised all the WSD pieces are kinda irrelevant granted Nyame also has DT for anything that matters. They should add DT to the WSD AF and Relic pieces at +5. If there is no +5 then I'm glad to stop playing until there is some more interesting new content again.

He should not spoil the thread, he should just wait a few days instead. Have some patience, and let others have some fun with it.
He knows full well people enjoy finding this stuff out, he just has wiki mind and ruins everything instantly. He knows many people who complain about how everything being solved and keeps on doing it, they ruin it for themselves and are disappointed because they lack self control to not click it.
I've done this in the past, but at least I try to stop myself doing it all the time cause I know it's a bad thing for the community.

In the almost 10 years he's posted these update threads, why are there only complaints now? I, for one, love to engage with everyone about how ***the game is only to be online 24/7 like a crack addict afterward.
But people won't see this post because my pfp doesn't have boobies like fonewear.
By RadialArcana 2025-06-10 06:59:30
FFXI and every online game was better before wikishit, but it's a pandora's box of ***and once you have it you have to use it.
Knowing that though, the people who run them should have some self control and give the community some time to enjoy it.
This is partly why people stay up late at night to do content before wiki people ruin everything, also why everyone wants to get games day 1 before everything is known.
This isn't so much about don't do it, but more wait a couple of days and let others have some fun before you do your thing.
By Ovalidal 2025-06-10 07:00:51
+5 isn't confirmed though. This might be it.
You're right, it isn't confirmed. But the producer has hinted at +5, one of the goals of Limbus is to make AF and Relic "in line with Empyrean Armor". This paired with the fact the they've said multiple times, Limbus will get future updates with future rewards, all stands to reason.

We might get +5, or some other way to Augment. But even if we don't the upgrade process is way too easy to justify the kind of massive upgrades people seem to want here.
I've seen posts of people who apparently hoped we were going to get Odyssey-tier equipment which is genuinely insane. That's leaving aside the fact that most Artifact and Relic will always have a place in gearsets due to their unique benefits anyway.

Not sure why we'd get anything substantially less given empyrean +2. Which was about as easy and enormously more impactful. V0 gaol bosses are also about as "difficult" as this and yet the gear is significantly more meaningful than a lot of this is going to end up being. The good pieces from before are still good the crap pieces are still crap. This is an exercise in pressing ctrl+h. Your sets aren't actually going to change other than some 3s to 4s. Other jse upgrades actually changed sets.

***sucks and I've ignored it for ages cause I didn't wanna hurt someones feelings, however I hope he will have some restraint in future and wait a couple of days going forward.
It's undeniable that people do like the mystery of it, and do yearn for the days when everything wasn't solved the moment it's dropped.
A similar thing happened not long ago with Fextralife where they got an early review code for PoE2, and then spoiled the game on their wiki site in every way possible. People were outraged at them.

Is it wishful thinking that I'm still hoping that SE realized they made a mistake and will be making more changes to the +4? Maybe a means to "augment" it via certain paths?
This is exactly the opportunity SE needed to "adjust" certain jobs to make them more useable in end-game content...
