In any case, it doesn't matter. POS warping around sortie, while effective, is a quick way to get you banned. Which you found out judging by the fact you are "unsubbed".

To address the "not everyone" comment, yeah there are a few that don't but they're also serious no lifers with 60000+ hours playtime.
Is 12-15 hours a week 'no life'? I made a billion gil in a year doing ~3 hours of gain exp every week. It's not the most exciting content in the game, but it's mindless and I mastered several jobs in the process. I don't think you have to no life, I think you just need to commit and stay consistent. A little patience helps too.

Can I say,I don't understand why people use those kind of cheats?
I mean, if the game offers contents that are built in a specific way, and one uses cheats to clear them...why even bother?
Isn't changing the mechanics of those contents like admitting that the game already defeated you? That you don't like how the game is?
Just change game.

After watching, even though it wasn't actually 130k, it's pretty clear that 150-160k is possible. I didn't even consider upstairs mobs, because I was assuming he was aggressively speedhacking not outright warping to gather his pulls.
His warp cleaves miss a lot of mobs because they're fully manual and he runs fast enough to not aggro everything he steps near. He loses a lot of time manually warping with tako and mouse instead of having an ingame command to do it. If he's ok with limitless speed and warps, a clean automated setup could identify the entire room's positions and calculate the minimum position updates to aggro them all. This is something that could be written in minutes, not hours.
I didn't expect him to have a clean automated setup, but I was still surprised at how quickly the sloppy one managed to gather everything. To his credit, he did do some degree of route planning deciding where to run and where to warp. I don't think it's weeks or months worth, someone smarter could probably beat it in a single run. Again, to be fair, he said as much himself.
When he stated it's a bug he discovered, he may have meant the Y modification. Anyone who uses pos frequently was likely aware of mobs warping and could've put effort into identifying the cause; Eiryl already knew it, for example. But, this could still be seen as a bug he discovered himself if he didn't have anyone tell him outright.
The reason nobody else is doing runs like this is because there's no point in getting faster gallimaufry if you get banned for it. I would think even out of the folks freely using 30% speed and 0x5C warps, most would never consider warping to pull faster.

I have to admit that he wasn't outright lying. If he said in his first post "I can make 130k pos and speed hacking in sortie" noone would give a ***though. He played it like it was legit for ages.

I too can make vague comments about a discovery and provide no details, leaving everyone to assume I may have discovered something.
Leaving out the details is the key here.
Moving up/down to make mobs warp to you - I've seen several people do that.

Yeah, I think the people that understand the mechanics of the game were more expecting to see he found a way to reset the floors, much like the resetting the floors in salvage during the alexandrite dupe period. Not aggro and pulling the mobs to you directly by being out of zone limits. This type of exploit has been done since the games release.
That being said there's a lot of hateful people on this forum, I wouldn't be surprised if in the next month or so we have a ban wave come through removing this type of player.

Hello everyone.
Apologies for not following up on my original post, as after posting it I received quite a few messages ranging from very nice people asking nicely to very angry people asking very angrily to take it down and not talk about it any further with anyone on this site in broad daylight.
However, my sub has expired and since I already concluded all my research/experimentation with Sortie awhile ago, as well as got to learn and experience everything I wanted to in the game, perhaps it might be ok to expand a bit on it and maybe clear up some misconceptions. It's the least I can do in return for all the knowledge everyone has shared here, which I am incredibly grateful for, as I would have never been able to get as far as I did without everyone's help.
Sorry for the misconception, but yes, this is not "legit". It is exploiting a bug I discovered within Sortie around December-January, and was running daily getting about 110k~120k until I quit last month. The limit I came to was 130k, and even that is quite bleeding edge and requires a fair amount of execution (at least for an old boomer like me).
But yeah, to those who were discussing why someone would do this, I guess the issue was that it was all predicated upon the assumption that the person was invested in their account to begin with, which I supposed I am a bit of an anomaly. I never was attached to or invested in my account, nor did I ever play for any material reasons (aside from allowing me to experience more of the game).
I never had any interest in any of the Prime weapons, and I already got all my AF3 a long time ago just doing plain old 8/8 runs. The truth is I just really enjoy the process of exploring, experimenting, and seeing how far I could push things using all the tools I have available to me. That's why I did it, because THAT is what I genuinely enjoy-- taking games apart, turning them inside out, and just poking around places people don't usually venture out into.
For me, THAT is how I define fun, and that's what it was for me, an adventure. And an adventure it was! I enjoyed my time with Sortie, but as I am not a fan of mindless repetition without any potential for imagination, there isn't any reason for me to spend time there anymore farming monopoly money/items. Also, I personally find Sortie (at least doing it legit) terribly dreadful and am not convinced anyone genuinely finds doing that engaging or interesting without having some sort of flimsy artificial carrot stick material gain pushing them to do it, but that's just from the perspective of someone who hasn't committed decades of my life to sitting in this game, so I don't have any sentimental attachment to it, i'm just a tourist I guess.
I am aware this isn't really a conventional perspective to how people should treat and enjoy the game, and that's okay. I apologize if it angered anyone, and I did not mean to come off as comparing myself or what I have done to anyone else with the intention of looking down on anyone, since the only person I compare myself to is the person I was yesterday.
In any case, since I am a fan of sharing knowledge and not some greedy dude who would form a funny elite cabal with his friends and gatekeep this knowledge till the end of time, and would like to give back to the community for all the knowledge they have shared with me that made this possible in the first place, I actually made a full writeup on how the bug works and my 130k route that I was going to share for anyone who is interested. The issue is I have been cautioned by many both nicely and not so nicely to never release it, so I am not sure if/when I will ever release this, or if it will even have any value to anyone in the grand scheme of things.
Perhaps someday I will release it, but at least for now it seems like there isn't a way to really share my findings without everything exploding. Maybe someday!

sortie makes a good playground because you have plenty of time to experiment and practice something like this in a private instance.

others may have a hard time understanding this but to me it makes perfect sense. who cares if you get banned if you never intend to make a Prime? if you have everything you need from the event, then obviously the goal is completely different.
some people have 5,10,20+ yr old original characters and of course it makes little sense to risk them. but it only takes 3 months tops to start a 6box from scratch and be 99% caught up. I think completed primes and ergons are the only exceptions? so the perspective is much different.

The point was that a normal player who commits a reasonable amount of time to earning gil could do that. You don't need 3 characters and tools to farm salvage for you all day. I mean, rationalize how you spend your money how you want to, but it's not necessary. You did it because you wanted to 'keep up'.

Unfortunately, the ground floor mobs reset obnoxiously fast when you drag em around. Can't really pull more than 2 rooms close to eachother at a time unless you wanna walk back and reaggro everything every 10 seconds.

Yes, with a tank, geo cor and blus for cleaving. Iirc it's something like 40k just doing cleaving, no bosses. This is for clearing the four basements of mobs.

full clear of all 4 basements with 2 respawns each is 60k just doing the math from #/spawns and galli/spawn (+ some from nms and naaks if they interfere)
whether you can actually clear that much legit, i'm not sure

There was a video, I can look it up later. I don't remember how much of the basement they cleared. I don't think they respawned.
