Black abyssite bounty Saturday June 7th Sunday June 8th 2pm EST

For any title hunters chasing Mastery Rank 8 or someone interested in making some gil for their time. Saturday June 7th a benefactor of my group will be paying 2m gil per black abyssite and 20m gil to the lucky individual that pops the shadowed version of Yilbegan.

In case you are not aware the WoTG Voidwalker NM system only rewards a title and ring drop when an NM spawns with a shadow. A working theory for my group thus far is at any given time only one respective shadow NM is up per available zones. This was easy to accomplish and confirm with the T3s because only 3-6 can be up within the 1hour respawn window, which made obtaining those titles much easier. Unfortunately, Yilbegan can pop in all 25 zones in 1hour requiring significantly more preparation to guarantee finding the correct one.

With any luck the working theory will be confirmed with 25 black abyssite collected come Saturday June 7th Sunday June 8th.

My money is that the Meriphataud Mountains or Beaucedine Glacier [S] will contain the real one!

Please do report back whether or not it's the case that 1 of the 25 is real, I'm on Asura but I'd love to see that confirmed... and honestly I'd probably bankroll doing this on Asura if we can verify it even with a sample size of one.

If only one has the shadow at a given time, it'd be an interesting experiment to do a 1-hour delay after the first pop. That would allow you to guarantee an additional shadow when that zone is first to repop.

Suppose that sort of experiment would be easier to do on T3s first. Either way, cool idea, good luck!

With this in mind, are you offering a reward to those who correctly guess first which zone the NM ends up being in? xD

This is a good idea and something we never considered doing. For all 6 T3s we created enough pops to force all available spawns to be killed with our hypothesis being the shadow would be guaranteed. As expected, the shadow NM always spawned on the very last spawn available except for on the Pixie. She popped with a shadow on #2 but we spawned the remaining 4 pops and as expected none had a shadow.

Yea Buukki great idea if someone manages to guess the zone too might as well double it.

What happens in the unlikely event that there are multiple shadowed ones? :P

I really hope that is the case for Yilbegan because only 1/25 is honestly an extreme slap in the face for the player base back in the day. Glad I was never chasing that DEX and INT ring.

What's the process going to be, by the way? Since alliance is only 18 big, it'll take 2 alliances minimum to be in all zones at once.

Is it going be simultaneous pops / reports with an LS made just for this, or a Discord invite or something?

What time are we talking about on the 7th?
I've several colors I can and will pop into Blacks for this event, and potentially more on the mule... [Correction: Black Abyssite in hand. Still got one color I'm holding onto for Empy purposes.]

Because I've been chasing these rings for years, as I'm one of those souls who enjoys a Lv.75 capped job or two. (Campaign really isn't as fun unless you're at Lv.75, I'm desperately hoping they update it to iLv.119++ so I can enjoy it on my main again.)

(' ' ) When do we ride, because Yilbe[censored] owes me some rings, and he's around, eh, ten years over due. (Five of which with dedicated, multi-character efforts.)

If there's a Discord for this event, I'd like it. (Obvious names are obvious, @ me whenever you ride, I'll be there.)

I think an LS is a great idea. Will place pearls on the NPC in the days before the 7th or sooner to begin building more interest.


Fantastic point did not include a time, but 2 EST seems like an ideal time for all time zones.

Just gonna piggyback on this to say I still gave a billion gil bounty up for anyone that can acquire the fortune's favorite or high roller titles and explain how they got them. Maybe in the game, maybe not! Added during the addition of chocobo race betting. Have fun.

Forgot to grab a pearl cause I was running a tight schedule today and didn't put 2 and 2 together, but I am camped out on (roughly) it's head in West Saru (S).

A decade's long search is over. <3 (We're fishing around for more pops to see if it's potentially multiple shadows, but can confirm-- Shadow = Title.)

I really can't fathom sometimes how pix and vods are so difficult for some to post.


So how many popped and only 1 shadow?

13 total pops, unfortunately not conclusive evidence without the full 25 but we continued to pop 4 more after shadow was killed and no shadow on the remaining 4. It is highly likely this is in fact 1/25 for shadow.

Would also like to add we also tested if one shadow existed per path. Full blue, gray, red, and purple were done. Still only one shadow.

I think with 8 zones remaining, it could be 2/25. Woulda been cool to have known for certain!

Thanks for organizing this event, it was a lot of fun! Feels great to finally acquire that elusive title after so many years. It's refreshing to see that there's folks out there who still enjoy getting together to chase older, rare achievements like this.
