Not true. If you want to buy a paladin and the account has both, paladin and bard, you will have to pay for the bard. The account is legit the sum of its parts.

Of course for a person who wants to buy a very specific account will not be interested in putting money on other content in the account. It doesn't mean he will get the other stuff for free. Every single equipped job, rema etc contribute to the price of the account.

I must say that you having the Bonanza available will increase the price. Not having it will not make it cheaper.

If you buy an account with PLD+BRD, it costs more than an account with just PLD. It doesn't cost as much as it would to have the entire BRD added to the PLD account.

If you buy an account with 30 RMEA, you aren't paying for 30 RMEA. It's probably similar in price to creating 8-10 RMEA from scratch.

The cost is less than the sum of the parts. Each individual part gets a value reduction because it's only worth what someone will pay for it, and most buyers don't give a ***that you made 8 crappy RMEA for DRG and PUP. The part adds value, but it is not comparable to what it would cost on its own.

Your original argument wasn't that REMAs all cost different prices. They do. The reason why 30 remas won't add the same price to the accounts is because they have different levels of usefulness.

The cost is not less than the sum of its parts. You are blurring concepts together and that's why you are making that claim. If you have, for example, full decked BARD, PLD, RUN, RDM it will cost 4x the price of the account just having PLD.



Yeah... it doesn't mean you will get the account with BARD, PLD, RUN, RDM for the same price. You wanting to buy a Camaro does not make the Ferrari cheaper.

That's just not true when it comes time to actually find a buyer, because there isn't an infinite supply of buyers who want exactly what you have to offer. The pricing is psychological, you can't just say your RMEA/gear are worth this and demand it; nobody will buy it. There's actually a very narrow pool of people who want to buy high end accounts, so the more things you put on it the less likely you'll get full value for any of them.

A RMEA BRD or GEO with the essentials sold by a reputable seller is going to get top dollar for every bit of effort you put into it. If you add 3 melee jobs and RMEA to the same account, you're probably not going to get back half of what they cost in additional sale price. You can ask for it and keep waiting, but that doesn't mean someone will pay.

That is very true. I have been buying and selling decked out accounts for a while. Unless you are talking about people desperate to sell the account because they need money, they will hold onto to the account if you bring the "I only want the bard in it" argument.

The usefulness of the jobs on the account will always increase the price by the same amount. The argument "oh, but I just want the the RUN in that account" will not get you a discount. There is even the concept of Sortie-Ready jobs.

Now, I am not saying that if an account with PLD cost $1k, an account with 4 useful jobs will cost $4k. A PLD account does not cost $1k because of the PLD. It's because of Oddy progress, Sortie progress, if you have muffins available, nyame ranks etc.

Suppose that the account with no jobs cost $1000. The account having PLD (with all paladin JSE) will add $500, if the account has BARD (with bard JSE) you will not get the bard for $250... you will pay full price for the bard.


SleepyKnight, known for selling ferraris for 2 decades, almost never has them available. He puts up a $4-5k account on his website and you have less than a day to buy it.

My ferrari accounts never even get announced. I tell a few people Im selling it and there are always buyers for it. The game itself is run by dollars.

Yes, most of the cost comes from general progress not specific RMEA. I agree fully on that.

I think you're only looking at the highest end accounts on the market, where the buyer is paying for the best they can get. Once you go down one tier, you're marketing to people who want an additional mule more than folks who want a 'good' character for the sake of it being good.

It doesn't seem likely we're going to agree, but I'd look at it in the context of what the buyer wants. If you're selling an account with RMEA brd that isn't fully nyamed and top of the market, that's only appealing to someone who wants a quick BRD mule. Adding a yagrush and geared whm isn't going to add a ton of value, because most of your potential market already has a healer alt. The most extreme example of this is when you put multiple POL IDs on the same SE ID. You will never get the full value of every POL ID there, because the target audience is so small you'll end up compromising.

If you're selling something that's in the top 3 best on market, then you can set your price anyway. The whales will pay it, and you can get a reasonable bit of added value for anything you add.

i know some of you guys have made a living off of this game and even have some respect for that hustle, but please remember for others its just a hobby they are passionate about. there are plenty of other places to go for that.

Someone asked about it in the context of sitting on their bonanza kupon. I'll drop it, but in regards to the initial question, I don't think you should. Just use it for something that fits your jobs that you'll enjoy, your character isn't going to become worth massively more because you saved it.
