I was bored and did some inventory management, so I made a list of every Level 1, All Jobs Weapon, which is often used for /lockstyles and Red Procs in Abyssea. As I was looking at this list, I thought I would ask the group:

If you select 1 weapon from each column, which combination results in the LEAST amount of inventory space being used? (i.e. each weapon you choose has to be storable on a Storage Slip or an NPC or ...a storage location I haven't considered.

Edit: This is as unorthodox storage suggestion, but you can just drop your Thunder Hammer whenever you want, and the NPC in the PUP Workshop in Whitegate will give you a new one, every time, no questions asked.

Edit#2: Added Macana, Maven's Staff, and other weapons from Vanabout 2 and recent Master Trials.

doesn't really matter. I suggest ones with realistic delays for the weapon type. the 999 delay weapons should be avoided if possible.
whatever you own and can slip for easy access/storage. Avoid things that are only on the Event Storage NPC if you can.

Can apply similar logic to Ash Club, drop/sell it and get a new one for little gil or sparks when you need it.

wish there was a swiss army knife for abyssea procs but got to sell them wardrobes.

You can just flux them and piss your time away, never needing a different weapon.

It was never that big of an issue to hold 7-9 weapons in the case/wardrobe anyway. Even putting them off and on a slip is more effort than it deserves.

For me its more what weapons I already have out due to lockstyle. Since they're out anyway (mostly Master Trial ones... since they CANT be stored for whatever reason). I'll use them rather than have another weapon take up space.
After that criteria, it's whatever weapon has the lowest delay or is in my inventory due to some useful reason.

Lockstyles---

Dagger: Hedron Dagger
Sword: Fermion Sword
GSword: Irradiance Blade
Spear: Mizukage Naginata
Scythe: Maven's Scythe (from Vana'Bout 2. Not on your list)

Useful---

Staff: Treat Staff II (kept out for backup Warp)
Katana: Debahocho +1 (kept out for Cooking). If I didn't cook I suppose i'd use Yagyu Shortblade+1

Because I need an option---

GKatana: Lotus Katana (lowest delay of the options)
Club: Kyuka Uchiwa +1 (lowest delay + multi hit during fire weather)

alternatively if you Alchemy, Caduceus. Or KClub if you're on a job w/ it.
--------------------------

In the spirit of your question, if you dont bother with any of the MT weapons and so forth and simply want a list of weapons storable on one slip so you can Porter Packer?....
You'd do Slip 22. Just glancing from the bottom up:
-Lost Sickle (Scythe)
-Yagyu Shortblade (Katana)
-Mutsunokami (Great Katana)
-Makana (Sword)
-Esoteric Athame (Dagger)
-Magician's Rod (Club)
-Erudite's Staff (Staff)
-Aern's Spear (Polearm)
-Lament (Great Sword)

With plenty of other options for each(?) slot

Heh, I actually keep a set of rare Multihit weapons for WAR because it can 100%-Red Proc just for shiggles. One weapon I’ve always wanted to add to the collection is Bahamut’s Zaghnal. Sadly, it’s a Level capped fight so doing it would probably be fairly difficult with limited interest haha.

Then again, maybe not? WS formulas have gone completely insane compared to OG-75 but probably can’t do it solo.

Not relevant to the OP, just a nostalgia moment.

Thank you! I generated this list before Vanabout 2. Adding this now.

Thanks for the answer! I must say, I personally HATE the look of the Aern weapons.

I do this too, Quint Spear, Mercurial Pole, Mercurial Kris....but I actually got Bahamut's Zaghnal from the gobbie box. Go figure...

Is it level capped? Someone should update the wiki then.

It's not capped, the Ouryu fight that drops the entry item isn't capped, but to get the Ouryu entry item you have to do capped ENMs, so I guess that could be what they meant? Overdrive is the savior again.

(also the drop rate on those Cloud Evokers is allegedly super low, I went 1/6 and I hope to never have to find out)

I used to use multi-hit weapons on WAR, changed to NIN and found I actually do everything faster simply having 18~25% movement speed all the time.
Orvail ring +1 for life sadly.

Ahhh I did not know this! I tried to build a pop set awhile back and got hit with the 75 wall and figured the whole thing was level capped. My mistake there. So if I can find a cheesy way to farm the pop, all should be good! Thanks for that.

Unfortunately, within the parameters of "Maximizing storage space", if you were to keep it all to one slip the only other option on Slip 22 is Hotengeki, which is a rank 3 bonanza prize... so good luck haha

Also yeah, I'm also of the school of Aern weapons = doo doo

I've held onto the rare ones myself such as the Merc Pole but mostly for skill up purposes. I figured they'd do too much damage vs the mob i'm trying to proc, considering they do so easily already. Plus not being all jobs is a real pain... the pole especially having mostly mage jobs and mnk on it only.

It's a damn shame we never got a Bahamut HTMB for an iLvl version of the Zaghnal + other iconic 75 era items

It's ok you only wear it for 30 seconds every 5th proc. You'll survive the ugliness.
