Okay, going in circles.

New games suck balls. New graduates can't make them.

Can Vibe Coding make good games?

Okay, going in circles.

It took you 97 pages to figure this out...maybe you should go back and get that degree.

Again, this is not true.

It's absolutely true, as sure as the sun rises. No amount of cope or hamstering is going to change that.

Companies only care about the bottom line and performance is what effects that. A CS degree is useless to the bottom line and that is the most relevant "IT" degree you see.

If anyone is bringing up education, it's purely as an excuse to decline a candidate they didn't want to hire.

Yes, if you lack experience, you will be asked about grades.

Last time I was asked about grades was... when I was a new graduate.

Many of the major companies used to scape recent university graduates in the hopes of getting cheap junior labor. A handful will get the "opportunity" to come work for peanuts, but it does build documented work experience on the resume. Most have stopped doing that in favor of outsourcing junior work to India or China. Those fresh uni grads started asking for the same pay as experienced people so it was cheaper to just outsource it instead.

This is all about the bottom line, making money by completing projects for reasonable budgetary amounts. It's why the pay for senior and lead positions has exploded lately with everyone attempting to steal each others talent.

But Im not sure the sun rises.

It up for interpretation and framing.

An alien from outer space would think the Sun is standing there, making this sentence false to him, as the sun is not going anywhere.

Im not nitpicking, just thought amusing you could use many examples that would be widely accepted as “true”, but ended up with a interpretative example.

Maybe your subconscious is telling something different of what your conscience think?

I like it when you draw first blood because then I can flat out just call you stupid. Which you are. Very. I honestly don't know if you know this, but you might think you have some very deep knowledge of something, and your arguments are very deep, but you are just stupid.

Having said that, here is the position I am currently applying to at AWS. I picked AWS to see you using Deflectaga VI again. Tell me again how I can apply to this position without having a PhD at a prestigious school, with strong publications in top conferences.

(btw, don't embarrass yourself asking for a link. Just google AWS research position).

He isn't stupid, he is opinionated. Some of his opinions are stupid but they are hills he wishes to die on.

If you can get him off those hills its possible to have a reasonable conversation. Only possible, no guarantees.

In this context I am 100% right. I even gave the inside baseball on how the process works. When it comes to qualifications and hiring education isn't even considered. HR makes us put something on the paperwork and then we ignore it entirely when chosing candidates.

Ole boy got declined for positions and they fed him a BS answer. This is pretty common and just a version of "we found a more qualified canidate" or "they weren't a fit for our organization".

There it is.. The Deflectaga VI I was expecting. You didn't tell me how to apply to the job in question without the degree and publications etc you claimed to be useless.

Your anecdotal experience doesn't mean anything to me. I have interned and interviewed in 3 out of the FAANG companies. I have interned at Intel and AMD. I know the process. I know the questions. The coping usually comes from bad students with bad GPA and no publications.

No it's just you nitpicking. It's a English phrase meaning that something will happen or is true regardless of how anyone thinks or feels about it.

Entry level software engineer at Amazon, despite what Saevel, the Deflecta King, says, it actually requires you to be fresh out of college.

Recent AC and the Indiana Jones game (off top of my head). I kinda gave up on most "new" AAA studio games awhile back, mostly I pay attention to Indie games.

I've never heard a single complaint about the Indy game. And AC was fine. I am glad that other people are getting the Saevel experience though. A true coward through and through, blocks people that don't agree with him, then continues to attack them. His bad faith posting was a big reason that PnR was permanently closed.

Too bad this never happened. But hey, you gotta keep trying to attack this game. All the way until the next AC comes out I guess.

Complaining about AC is one thing, but Indiana Jones too? That game is pretty well received in the gaming community, with 89% positive review on Steam. I haven't read any woke complaint about this game either, so even anti-woke has no reason to hate it.

I’m extremely late but I’m very thoroughly enjoying FFVII-Rebirth on PC. Very limited play windows these days so I’m only in Chapter 7 so far but it looks really well polished as far as I can tell.

The only complaint I have is the stuttering, apparently it happens to literally every platform, including PS5? If I force it to 60fps it smoothes out but an actual fix would be nice.

I’m not an RPG Critic by any means so there’s probably tons of little things wrong with it but I’m enjoying it so far.

I love that one of the most successful games SE has made for many years (in terms of game sales, merch sales, crossover and pure company prestige since everyone loves it and wants collabs), was one they didn't want to make and were forced to at the threat of high level people quitting (Nier Automata) and that fundamentally goes against their nu company policy of being politically correct and pandering to feminist western investors.

It's up there with Kojima adding Quiet to MGS5, cause he thought it would cause all kinds of problems for Konami (at the point he hated them) and in reality all the fans loved it.

First Descendant is doing a Nier Automata collab and you can blow her skirt off.

I have a feeling SE will learn all the wrong lessons from 33 and make another disaster that divides the fanbase and is quickly forgotten.

I very much enjoyed the big story sections of FF7 Rebirth.

I also absolutely hate with all my being the "content" between those sections.

You definitely need to install the framerate mod. I will never understand why these companies keep putting out games the perform like this and modders put out fixes for this crap the day it's released. If some guy can build this fix without getting paid in 24 hours, why the hell can't these huge studios do it?

He didn't build a fix, he asked chatgpt to alter the settings in a single configuration file for the engine. The people who wrote the engine created that config file to allow the engine to be changed by end user. Every one digit change he made to that file is only possible because the people who wrote the engine wrote extensive code to allow it. In other words, he's using a feature not writing code.

If you don't have an eye for detail, you won't notice the visual effects sacrificed to gain that performance. However, they are still sacrificed. Someone with a good PC will get good performance without giving them up. If the game doesn't natively support multithreading, turning it on will also add instability, and typically that gets blamed on the game itself rather than the tweak.

Then, there's the whole placebo effect issue; a ton of them don't actually improve anything when measured under controlled conditions:
https://youtu.be/FTAW38VTIJQ

[If you really want to nitpick, typically the config is an embedded struct and the config file is read to change it, so a proxy dll is used to load in the settings and overwrite it. Still not meaningful code, and the 'mod' you linked isn't the one that does it.]

Why wouldn't SE just add more graphical presets to accomidate more systems then? If it's just a options tweak, that seems like something they could have added incredibly easy. If I understand you correctly, you're saying these mods just adjust graphic settings.

Stuff like no 21:9 suppport and 30fps cutscenes seems like such BS to me, especially considering people release mods/fixes for these issues hours after launch. I just don't understand why this isn't handled by the multi-billion dollar company I'm giving my money to.
