Aeolian Edge -HelP

I've been MiA for about 5+ years. Looking to see if any1 can share Aeolian Edge set for PLD.

Pretty much anything these days starts with 5/5 Nyame r25 +accessories, geared for whatever ws your building. Can't go wrong starting there.

Anyone else read the title as "Aeolian Edge - Hell"?

The set is from 2023, so it's still relatively up to date. Not perfect, but gives you an idea of where to start building. You can look at other sets not necessarily for PLD to see some other options that PLD might be able to wear. The sets from the PLD Job Guides on BG wiki don't appear to have an AE build, but I imagine it's just as Yottaxa says: 5/5 ranked Nyame with standard MAB accessories. But since you've been gone for 5 years, I doubt you have much ranked Nyame, so you can use some of the mix of gear that PLD can use (Carmine/+1, UNM pieces, Sinister Reign Jumalik/Malevolence, Odyssean(Oseem), Yorium (Divainy-Gamainy) or Eschite (Nolan) augment system, Sacro Breastplate).

Aeolian Edge build n PLD is kind of niche, so you can even go back further date-wise and find a reasonably useful set that is still modern pre-nyame.

I glanced at this for a sec, and went, "Hey, that looks a lot like my set." Stared a bit longer and realized it was my set. lol. Also, I never even realized there was a sets search. Interesting.

And... Hmmm. The heck happened to the ammo piece in that set..? I'll update that. Also going to add a note in the comment about B path Nyame. I don't have B path, so It's not in my set. But if you have it, use it.

It was just to give the OP an idea of how to find sets from others if the guides don't have them listed. Sadly, unless the user puts their name on the set (they have to assign it to their character or it'll just shows blank), we don't know who it belongs to (at least I can't tell), but I've been using sets from "anonymous" players for years. Shame the sets pages don't have feedback or comments section where people could contribute to it so we would know what the general consensus is, but it gets the job done when you need to build something quick and need an idea of how to gear for it.

Yeah, that was a great shout out for a feature I wasn't aware of despite using this site for so many years.

As I'm not a pld, I can't speak specifically to the gear required, but you'll want to make sure you cap out DT first and foremost, you'll do 0 damage if you're dead. To that end, nyami or sakpata gear even at r0 will help you get the numbers you need. The empy armor also had some nice DT pieces while offering solid evasion and relevant stats, and D ring is always a good fallback if you're lacking DT in other areas. I'm guessing you're looking to cleave? If that's the case, look into a spell interrupt set, a phalanx received set, and a reprisal set, also a curing set wouldn't be a bad option.

For the WS itself, magic attack bonus, magic damage, magic acc, int, dex and weapon skill damage is what you're looking for. I believe there's a higher priority on MAB, but again, I 'm not a pld, all I can reference is my thf using full nyami or my rdm using full empy armor, and my rdm hits much harder with aeolian edge.

Default set for balance and not taking chunk damage is Nyame 5/5 Path B.
Malevolence with best augment you can get, /Rdm in case that wasn't specified or known. (there are other options, but this is the most viable) Others are Thf, Brd, Rng, Nin and Dnc.
Moonshade with MAB 4 TP bonus in ear 1
Other ear options are Friomisi for MAB 10 or Thrud for WDS 3%

I think by set is pretty close to what's posted.
but yes, as time said, you'll need other sets to make this viable as the main tank.

Unless things have changed dramatically, Priwen + Reprisal are what makes this viable, so you'll need enough fastcast to fulltime reprisal, Solo this is very difficult without Cornalia and Regal Gauntlets, but is doable with a Cor.

You should have a spell Interrupt set regardless of this for any tank.
