COR and BRD savage bladeing is better DPS than COR savage + BRD rime.

Bard and Paladin have the slowest TP gain. BRD relies on Tact/Miser + Absorb TP, Paladin Strictly on Tact/Miser (not including icarus wing-like items)

PLD can KoR at 1k with no FTP fall off, highly benefiting the fact that they gain very little TP, and waiting until 1750~2100 for Savage would be less WS frequency, which fails to exploit the benefit of Miser's roll.

Mordant just doesnt hit overall high enough, and will simply make your COR's numbers look inflated for a slower kill speed overall.
I keep track of every one of our aminon kills DPS, WS frequency, and WS avg's...

Sortie D objective and Aminon I prefer Excal. I’ve hit 515k on PLD a couple times with Excal doing speed kills.

It’s also good for segments. AM plus added DPS.

This is kind of an aside... but,
Our PLD Burtgang's for D objective. Gets 3k TP to AM3 while I elegy everything.
Then its:
Atonement (PLD)> Flat Blade (PLD) = Impactation >
RLB (BRD) = Liquefaction > Flat Blade (PLD) = Fusion >
Savage Blade (BRD) = Light > CDC (PLD) = Light

pretty much guaranteed cleans up the War instantly and then PLD can ride AM3 for awhile you do the normal Flat>RLB>Flat>Savage, then either CDC to kill or Atonement>Savage follow up, depending on the target/damage you deal. I like to absorb Vit/Str when possible while the PLD preps the Flat to help soften the mob a bit.

As for Aminon DPS, I've seen similar. PLD is much more reliant on a Bolster Reset and good rolls in order to get higher DPS, where as jobs with more attack and TP generation benefit less from what the COR does and tend to avg similar numbers every fight (looking at you COR ~1-1.2m, DNC ~1.8-2.2m). The weaker jobs cannibalize the stronger jobs DPS when buffs are better, but it obviously results in a faster clear.

I'm referring to non-Aminon fights, like dynamis [d], Omen, odyssey gaol, etc. I don't use PLD in segments, but I guess that's on the table too.

For Aminon we have BRD using SB, so putting a third character on SB would be terrible. I've noticed Mordant is a significant drop in BRD damage, so I don't think it's the right call for maximizing the group's damage, especially when PLD has access to better options.

For Dyna D, Omen and Segs where you may not necessarily need the burtgang due to the targets being significantly weaker, I could see the appeal.. but in general, assuming you dont have the BRD give you a Minne, wouldn't a PLD still be able to 1 shot w/ Naegling savage in Sheol C? If not then it might be the most efficient option.

We’ve switched to brd rudra after my dagger hit stage 5 and I just ruthless until the cows come home. No damage fall off, I averaged 99k on tonight’s run. Brd was doing great with twash/rudra and no one walled anyone else. Think we had a 5min clear.

Rudra BRD Ruthless DNC
I'd be cool with that. I'm more curious what the avg's are for the BRD and COR, assuming your DNC has no falloff. In my experience the DNC is rarely "perfect" getting all 9's across 22-25 WS's, theres usually a few 95/92's mixed in.

Not to derail too much from the main topic of KoR / Excalibur use

To touch on Mordant one last time... My group skillchains every mob other than D and Aminon. On F, we do Leaden>Rudra>Rudra, and I've adjusted from Savaging on BRD for F to building to 3k during that 3 step skillchain window, then Mordant rime-ing, and mixxing in Rudras when I see darkness windows from the DNC's rudra's. This keeps the COR's savages higher, on F specifically which typically has faster damage fall off than the other mobs and tends to take a little longer to kill. The incidental distortions/darknesses help alot and you TP much faster w/ the AM3. OUTSIDE of that, I find Mordant to be pretty useless

I don’t have the parse screenshot but last night’s kill was 1.9m dmg DNC with a 99.5k WS avg, 18 WS. COR was 1.2m, RDM 650k and BRD was right behind that. ~5 min kill speed. We’ve been prioritizing kill time and it’s worked out pretty well.

We also have taint on pld who is just ridiculous and averages 450-500k dmg on Aminon as well.

It's tough cuz its super variable depending on how strong the individual player is. I've seen a GEO break 750k w/ prime club. I've seen a RDM break 1m. Often on my BRD i'm in the 750-900k range but its always a sum of all parts, and if your with someone stronger, or rolls are weaker, it affects the whole thing.

Ill grant you that I'm more interested in getting off my lazy *** and finishing Twash just to try this now though. Either COR Only on Savage or COR + PLD on it

For dynamis we don't have PLD in the DD party at all so naegling won't do ***. Threat is often quite tight, even with burtgang so idk about switching to Excalibur.

Speaking of w3 su5 mobs & wave bosses here, of course w1/2 trash is a joke.

For PLD it has niche uses. Burtgang is just so dang good. Sakpata is also a nice sword for what it is.

For RDM it offers utility (refresh+3, and the Regen +20 gives you about 50 tic with Regen II), a pretty solid fusion/light based weaponskill, and added effect damage (which is good when a WHM is ruining your T1 Enspells.)

It's going to boost your white damage a bit in situations where you are stuck with Enspells IIs, or if magic damage is no bueno. The added effect deals slashing damage and can proc on multi hits of the main hand.

You can pair it with a Thib offhand to keep Savage Blade Damage boosted. If accuracy is an issue you can pair it with Gleti's/Crep (if you do not have a flame tongue.)

In a defensive set, it is also nice with a Sakpata Sword.

You might also want to use those daggers offhand to have higher Macc (while still dealing out decent damage) The skill on it is pretty decent but you are also losing Naegling's/Croc's raw Macc/attributes.

If it's a boss by all means swap weapons on cast and bring your A-Game.

Refresh+3 can be nice at times, and with a nice Regen set I was getting about 50 tic Regen. Doesn't seem like much but it enables you to focus more on DPS/Keeping Stoneskin and shadows up for certain fights.

The added effect is also nice for those times you have a WHM ruining your tier 1 enspells. Or if an enemy takes pretty lousy magic damage to begin with

I've been enjoying mine, it's another tool in our kit and has it's uses. Basically you are trading Naegling's raw damage/Macc for some utility, white damage and refresh/survival.

I recommend making Excalibur and Mandau if you love RDM. Mandau R15 is especially nice for Sheol C.

Temper II basically transforms relic weapons from something mediocre to something that is surprisingly good. With dual Wield it becomes a 3-6 hit weaponskill. If using a Crep knife it raises the max to 8 hits.

The first hit on Mercy stroke/KOTR is 8.4 fTP
Additional hits are 1.68 "fTP".

But hey I went off topic. Back to the PLD stuff.

Did I mention Excalibur is a sexy lock style?
