Inches, feet, yards, miles, gallons, fahrenheit... Nice if you like big, unequal steps. Is there even a unti smaller than an inch?
Metric system and Celsius for more precision, and equal steps from millimeter to centimeter to decimeter to meter, or way back to even nanometer.

The way I see USA and Europe is as follows:
USA is a young nation and need to grow up out of their teenangst periods while acting like high school bullies, pestering or showing off to the rest of the world, screwing aroun and caring mostly about themselves and their closets buds, while stealing ideas of Europe and modifying them to something 'cooler'. American Football, for example.
Europe is old, annoying the heck out of the USA for the mistakes we know they're making. 'Cuz nothing beats experience. Europe is in a mid-life crisis where they try to be 'cool' like thoose teenicans, but making a fool out of themselves on several occasions.
The world could use some therapy.
Thank you America, for (eventually) helping to win WWII. But stop dragging us into your little bully fights worldwide.
