Emergency maintenance, ruh-roh!
Someone stated it was due to people being able to use subjob on Sheol Gaol.
Can confirm that was the case. They also broke amplifiers at the same time somehow.

That's quite a STRONG luck in terms of rare drops, considering you used only a dozen of orbs.

Also an issue with in game macros. After using a ws, gear changing doesn't work in that macro.

As in they didn't work. We managed to get one bumba fight in after the maintenance message and we got 52 RP for it.

But, did you do 15% or 5%? The normal reward for 5% is 17 RP, so given some rounding, 52 would be expected if they patched amps to only apply to what you earned, instead of the NM's total value.

We took it down to ~86% before timing out IIRC (we pulled at 2 min 30 sec left on the clock).
Also, the amp buff didn't disappear after we exited the instance back to Rabao (hence my conclusion that it wasn't applied at all).

Those trove drops are ridiculous, that has to be a bug and they may even do a rollback.

If that is working as intended it's flat out dumb to give away that many high ticket items so easily for nothing.

For one person who gets excessively lucky you get 500 other people who get absolutely nothing for years.

It all evens out in the long run, is it fair? Depends on what meaning you give to the word.
It's not "evenly distributed" but it doesn't favour anybody in particular either.

Concept-wise it's no different from a bonanza, or a lottery, which is exactely the same as the gacha thing the JPs seem to love so much.

I dunno, I have mixed feelings about it.
I don't love it with all of my heart, I don't hate it either.
Either way I don't really see the meaning behind excessive sourness, especially after AMAN trove has been out for so long.

Near max RP for doing 5% damage, login points, gobbie dial, 1% drops from trivial NMs with no meaningful way to increase rates, monthly campaigns expanding and inflating, paid wardrobes. FFXI has been incorporating as much gacha design as they can get away with for years, while still trying to pass itself off as a serious MMO. It's going to keep going in this direction, and if you honestly think it's a mistake you aren't paying close enough attention.

Well... it doesn't favor them directly, but statistically-wise it gives them more orbs per month, and more orbs = more chances to get something good, wether you wanna keep it or sell it.

So yes, ultimately they do have an edge over people with a single character.
Keep in mind you can use level 99 same-account mules for this, and there's people who levelled them on purpose for AMAN trove lmao.

I guess those people are (were?) more rare than those with multiple accounts, but then again who knows.

I think it's because they are doing something else to Odyssey in the future, but that something is in their Alpha version of the game and part of that incomplete code accidentally got ported over to the Prod version of the game. (and hence in the official patch)

My guess is something like that.

We know for sure that sooner or later were are getting Odyssey V25 mobs, with 2 adds each.
I wouldn't be surprised to let them "unlock" subjobs in Gaol if you fulfill some requirements.
That might not necessarily happen in the end but I think it's clear they are considering the idea.

If you ask me, that would be pretty cool and would give further meaning to the new changes they gave to subjobs through ML release.
I like the concept of same job being locked, but the concept of SJ being locked (while not a big deal in general) was always something I found particularly bad and incoherent with the core structure of the game.
Jm2c of course.

Always disliked this and the boxes. Seems dumb just giving out any equipment in the game. It's like crashing markets and shortening lifespan of content. Dumb gacha crap, its like they dont realize people have access to a billion characters and will just merc it or cap out a lot faster.

I think Trove is targeted towards new players, giving them a quick way to get some good gear, or make some money to get started. It's new players that are going to continue to get new content developed for the old players, so really the old players are benefitting too, nothing will shorten lifespan like new players drying up.

The gobbie box (I think that's what you were referring to?) is just pure genius for an aged game with a ton of obsolete content, because there will always be some people wanting something obscure, so gobbie box ensures long term supply for all kinds of items that otherwise you wouldn't be able to find on the AH anymore.

Only way to make it even somewhat fair and not more favorably award losers who throw $150+/month at Trove is to make it solo entry, the good drops R/Ex and not POL Sendable, and adjust the mimic to where you have a chance in hell of soloing it.

SE ain't doing that, so enjoy the soft RMT for dullards.
