Did they change how check works in this update?

I remember I used to be able to take off Ilevel gear and notice a different check rating, but they rate the same regardless now.

That was a few updates ago. You're considered permanently 119 as a baseline as soon as you start Master Levels on that job.

I am planning on streaming tonight due to the maintenance message saying we are getting a client update. We will treat it like any other monthly update, and I will dig through new files to see what we have.

It is possible it will be a giant waste of time... but the following is in the update message. Also it is very unusual for them to have maintenance to end an event: "This maintenance will be accompanied by a client program version update."

Let see if they manage to break something.

643 Files to Download. Correct me if I am wrong but I don’t recall so many Files when such was NOT actually adding NEW Additional content.

My over optimistic view of the forthcoming May 20 year Anniversary Update has me thinking such was so large of an Update that SE needed to Update early some of that Content. *fingers crossed*

Well, we can't forget to consider the moon phases.
Especially when we realize that AMAN is really an acronym for MAAN, which is eerily close to MOON.

Also, players can earn 9 Silver Vouchers from ROEs, and purchase 5, totaling 14. Coincidence with the mission Apollo 14 to the MOON??? Nope.

Keep in mind that Trove offers 3 locations:
Horlais Peak (North, Dark/Light)
Waughroon Shrine (West, Water/Fire)
Balga's Dais (East, Ice/Wind)

Now, obviously, everything in FFXI (from crafting, to 5th WS hit Accuracy) is linked to the time/day/moon cycle.

I don't think it needs further explaining, but:
Horlais Peak. Darksday = less Mimic%, less LT (Safer). Lightsday = More Mimic%, more LT chance (HQ).
etc. etc.

The moon phase, without question, controls the quality of the drops. You go in on a new moon and wrong day, your best drop might be a Volte Gear. You go in on a full moon and the right day, your best drop might be 4x Shinryu+ drops.




Also, I get bored when Maintenance is up.

Thanks to Asura.Iamaman, all that was added were a few new lines of dialogue to each zone. Theres around 275 zones or so, and two version (jp and en). That explains the file downloads tonight. Here is what he found for new lines:
