V0, R15. V15, R20 - No Longer?

Hello,

I believe augmenting Ody RP used to work like: If you won v0, and had RP from NM from doing V1-15 but not killing the NM. You used to be able to aug up to R15. But not R20.

Or rather, v0 clear unlocked gear up to r15; v15 unlocked r20.

A few ppl I know have recently have gotten the v0 kill, but it's not letting them augment despite having RP.

Did SE change this method last update?

No, you always had to clear higher to augment.

v0 clear lets u buy the gear only, well maybe lets you aug to 5 too.
v5 clear lets you aug to v10
v10 clear lets you aug to v15
v15 clear lets you aug to v20 etc

Clearing on a given Vengence level, lets your select that vengeance level for the purposes of RP farming. (The RP you get from 3x Gaol NMs is the multiple by the average vengeance level of the 3 NMs you fight)

I assumed this is how it works, but can you confirm this or just guessing?

Edit: Talking a buddy he has V0 KIll and can rank up gear to Rank 15

I can confirm that clearing a boss at least on V1 let you start the augment process up to rank 15, that's the way I did it with my mule. having V0 just allowed me to buy the equipment, the moogle keept ignoring me even thought I have RP, that changed when I redo the fight but this time on V1. hope this helps

I only have v0 clears so obviously the best way to solve this mystery is for people to carry me through V15 RP runs until I'm capped on all my gear

I guess SE DID indeed recently change it, but didn't announce it, because this was my experience too.

Someone should change the BGWiki to say "V1-14 - R15", and "V0 - Base Gear".

They probably changed it because of all the people selling v15 5% runs using a BST or w/e other job combo. Though I sure it won't take long for the people selling v0 clears to move onto v1 clears instead.

I had a friend recently have this same issue. He had the V0 clear on Bumba and had done an RP run but could not spend anything. Getting the win on just V1 solved it and he was able to go up to R15. This occurred before the recent update.

My alts have R15 gear with nothing but V0 clears so it certainly was the case at one point that simply having the V0 clear and a V15 attempt was sufficient to go to R15. It's possible SE added a requirement of V1+ to unlock the augmenting process itself, but then it still works that the V15 attempt is sufficient for R15.

Just tested it tonight to confirm. Bought a Bunzi's Rod with only a v0 clear. Was able to immediately augment it to rank 8 with the points I had on me, and it is cleared for up to rank 15.
