SE tolerating RMT and profiting from it is a roundabout (and dishonest) way to do its own RMT. There is only one way to fix this that makes economic sense: SE would have to officially do its own RMT, and open a store where for $$$ you can buy job points and items.
They do this with 14. You can buy packages that will do everything from l weed vel you to XX or complete storyline missions or give you item(s) to sell to NPC for lots of gil.
https://store.finalfantasyxiv.com/ffxivstore/en-us/product/537

They just did a mass banning at the start of the Voidwatch campaign. They leave the policing us and only drop the hammer when ppl complain. REMA and Pulses are about all that's left to RMT or mercing wins/clears.

If SE were to remove the RMT from the game completely, wouldn't that destabilize the economy? and other aspects of the game that people currently take for granted? Let's say RMT have been gone for a 1+ years...what would the game look like from an ordinary player's perspective?

Edit: yay, 1000th post ....nobody cares.

It would look like it wasn't there, because I don't believe it would be. Or at least, less likely it would be.

I'm just gonna say it: the RMT are more important than average players. They multibox, buy new accounts, pay more monthly fees and keep the lazy normy players playing.

I said what I said.

Yeah I was slowbro on this. I knew it was a thing, I'd just never seen it in person before. Also I didn't know where the thread was.

I've been watching this practice and they are taking 3-4 hours per Sparks cycle. Would be in favour of nerfing the RoEs, or make it so you have to earn them by getting a character to level 50 or something along those lines. Not a fan of putting all of Records of Eminence behind a time wall, because that affects real players, although I'm sure most people wouldn't mind.

As for the game having no RMT, we have had periods where they were pretty rare to see. Before sparks was introduced, I was shocked to see any. SE had done a good job of making it difficult for them to make gil out of thin air, but Sparks and Records of Eminence undid all that work.

4) Self healing

When you level up you get full hp .. ah the good ol days

They are still healing up after reaching level 11 and putting on Level Sync. I know about recovering HP on level up, but how do you explain their healing when they aren't and no one being around to cure them?

if there is no demand then there are no RMT.
but lets put it to the test, shove all RMT, cheaters, botters and exploiters on a server, players can migrate but not leave, no enforcing of rules and the rest of the servers gets a well defined red line and instant enforcement if crossed.

i'm curious which servers would be more popular and which serves would generate more revenue.

Ah, we've reached the point of no return, where the thread has run off the rails into the worthless territory.

Was almost an entirely decent first page for a reposted subject. Shame `bout that.

While they will just keep coming back, this will be enough to annoy them:

The bots disappeared, so either they (most likely) finished their shift, or SE actually (but unlikely) did something. It was fun getting their bots killed, they got really annoyed about it too. Had one of the leaders chasing me around for a while. I'll mess with them some more when they return.

More than likely using a VPN in the first place. Most legitimate Chinese players I've ever met have to, so I can't imagine they would be much different.

Same pattern as any other week. Chances are, unless SE adjusts something with the Sparks/Accolades they abuse, they'll be back next week.

it's rumored that chines ISP scan unencrypted traffic for keywords like the tiananmen square protests and if they find any they cut the connection.

China filters tons of stuff on their internet. Many words are filtered by ISPs and other services. Chinese government works with all whitelisted social media companies to censor speech and report violations. Most Euro and American social media sites and apps are banned or heavy regulated. Read up on the Great Firewall if you have time.

Big ones are:
-Tiananmen Square
-Xinjiang internment camps for Uyghurs (I know a Uyghur personally and it's some disturbing stuff)
-Names of politicians
-Hong Kong discussion
Sending these tend to set off flags for the person receiving them. You have a decent chance of getting that person banned from internet use unless they are on some heavy duty VPNs, but those are illegal and run a huge risk for those attempting to use them.

Just look at what the change in the economy was when SE changed the Sparks limits. Now the poor people, are staying poor, and the already rich ones are still rich, as they already got their ***.

Honestly, would this game survive without RMTs constantly buying new subs? I think most servers are some real people with a bunch of alts anyways. So while I personally do not care if they ban people or not, I say to SE ban them all, and see what happens lol.

The sparks change didn't impact players as much as some pretend it did, it only really impacted the bots.

Newbie players were not capping sparks over and over, normal players have other ways to make gil. The uncapped sparks system was stupid, it was destroying the economy with hyper inflation.

The easiest way to fix this situation is just to put a spend cap based on your level. If you're under 50 then you can only spend 50% of the total spark cap, same for 25. Only at 99 can you spend them all that you make (upto the weekly limit).

This stops people >level 12 > delete > repeat spark capping.

But... then how will those players be able to refer to themselves as "high tier" or "top players" amongst legit players? That would deplete their existence in the game.

It was my main way of making gil. Granted, I didn't get to log in and do it every Wednesday but I was sure there every Sunday morning with the same 2-3 people teaming up and filling the bank up.

always wanted extra "fills" of sparks/accos to get unlocked by completing content- allow one 1 fill as is, complete an expansion and get another, etc.

I didn't quote your entire comment, but did want to specify that I agreed to an extent that killing sparks 'didn't affect the normal player as much as people like to pretend'. It definitely didn't affect the casual player, but in terms of the "normal" endgame player, it was a way to make a little gil in downtime without worrying about sales prices or finding others. There was a respectably large chunk of the playerbase that used it that way- maybe they didn't block 4 hours straight 3x/week for sparks farming, but it was something available when bored and you felt like at least you were progressing.

Due to Conflict RoE not requiring EXP on kills, this allows 500+ EXP per 10 mobs regardless of where you EXP on or what level you are. If they do that, then they have to nerf Conflict RoE to require EXP, because otherwise they could just bot to 50 EZ PZ and still spend half the cap. It's a big blunt, sure, but I've seen the Galka army at the zoneline in Bastok Markets, and they're all 50 except the Sync bot.

I wouldn't want to give things away in public, just in case it gets back to them, but if you guys message me I can give you some techniques. Bear in mind this is time consuming, so don't mess with them unless you are crazy bored.

One of the very first things new bot accounts do is get 50k beads for an aeonic merc. Not new, possibly more of them at any given time made you finally notice.

Not sure about the odyssey gear specifically but any bot that survives 45 days buys the clear.

What shocks me is that there is still a market for bought gil in s twenty year old game. I mean... I guess everyone that started this back in 2002 that still plays is like 35~45 years old now so they should have expendable income and rationalize spending real money for ingame currency is easier than spending real life time farming a mindless grind, but still.

A ton of "adults" with terrible mindsets.

Throw hundreds or thousands at this game and then have what to do?

There's a guy who posted here looking for basically all contents clears and says he AFKs all the time.

Pathetic.

This is what i dont get why play the game if you are not playing the game
