I'm pretty sure he's talking about himself. He probably copied translated words. Don't you remember Karppa?

I don't remember. Maybe he is talking about himself? If we take out the quotation marks, it makes sense to me.

No worries! And yes, I would recommend you getting Captain rank at some point.

And as for the guide... I updated the Lebros Cavern section just now. 3 down, 2 to go.

Edit: I have wanted to include this for a long time. Today, I went the extra mile by adding a video guide for Building Bridges!
I'd never advise doing it solo, but for the crazy people who enjoy a challenge (like myself)... let's go full Metal Gear Solid.

After finishing Ilrusi Atoll today, I gave "Lost and Found" and "Desperately Seeking Cephalopods" a big update. I felt they needed better explanation and more information, so I hope they are more useful than they were.

With that done, I can safely say this is version 2.0 of the Solo Assault Guide! Please let me know if you feel anything is inherently wrong or may need a tweak. I'm happy with it though, and I hope it helps players with this old content for years to come. Cheers.

Just completed all 50 again in this last few days. Gotta say the hardest was Lost & Found for me. You gotta stand on the exact spot for the ring. I tried about 8 times and then I had a run where I got all the clues very close together in one section of the map.

My final strategy was to run to the middle of the square of a map and talk to the NPC. If nothing move to next square. One thing I did notice was that if you have the mini-map addon open then you can see the ??? sometimes pop for a second and then disappear. I was using this tactic for a good while, but it's not totally reliable. I'd go with the square by square approach.

For Building Bridges I needed only 2 runs, but had real success going counter clockwise with the switches, starting with the bottom one. Got all 4 before being spotted. Then caught twice getting to the rune but not too bad. Movement speed an absolute must.

For Orichalcum Survey I found the Field Gear was night and day improvement. I went 2 timed out runs getting a mix of nothing and lots of worms and quite a few breaks. But with two pieces of Mining gear (no torque or belt) I started getting lots and lots of nothing. But only one break and two worms on a successful run with nearly 10 mins to spare.

For the fishing one I know that skill is not needed to succeed. But I'm 110 fishing and used Ebisu Rod +1 with sliced cod. Boom! First catch Orobon! I know that doesn't prove anything, but fishing skill might just help the luck, even if it's not needed.
I believe you have to be at the right NPC anyway for that?

Azure Ailment or whatever is my nemesis.
The trick is to equip a negative elemental resist piece such as Bullwhip Belt.

Azure ailments 101:

Go on blu, make sure you have a set of proc lvl1 weapons, doesn't matter what type.

Gather as many mobs as you can handle of different types, gather them all up, dream flower.

Pick one type, melee them with lvl1 daggers and unequip as much armor as you can without dying. Pick shitty armor for the slots you need, as little meva as possible. Wear lvl1 armor, w/e, as long as you don't die. Also what Phil said.

Keep meleeing with lvl1 weapons until a debuff lands on you. Stand next to NPC so you can click him quickly. Once a debuff lands, lullaby again, click NPC, and move on to next mob type.

Notice how Azure Ailments and Azure Lore the blu SP are similar. Coincidence? Maybe.

messing with meva you are doing it wrong.

Equip gear to lower your elemental resistant so you autofail on of the first "saving throw",thereby ensuring ailments always land
dont care about meva at all then.

it is already mentioned in BG wiki

Never used Bullwhip and haven't had issues doing Azure Ailments on THF. Unequip any gear with magic evasion on it and debuffs should land.

Of course, if you want debuffs to be even more reliable, you could go out and get the belt, but it isn't necessary.

Same, never farmed the belt. Takes longer to farm the belt than to do the assault without one.

Regarding azure ailments, I used Bullwip belt too. But I tried on my Mlvl 50 THF and WAR and debuffs would miss or not land. I did remove all mag.evasion gear as well. I ended up succeeding on my M level 11 PUP. I was gonna try my 99 non master RUN. But that cannot equip that belt and that job has inate mag.resistance anyway.

For weapons I used Bartholomew knife. Lowish level with a bit more damage than level 1 weapons. It's just what I had to hand. I found dual wielding Aern daggers I and II too slow to get mobs down. Need a balance of kill speed and TP feed.

One good thing about that assault is you can report to the NPC without that shitty "Event Skipped" message, if some mobs still attacking you.

I've timed out many, many times with 2 characters in Azure ailments, completely butt *** naked other than lvl 1 weapons for TP feeding. Getting hit by dozens and dozens of TP moves that give status ailments, but none of them landed.

Bullwhip belt, or similar items, are a huge help. Might be a little bit of work (though not much, because it's a timed spawn NM that's basically always up), but you only have to do it once and can then do the assault 10+ times, so the farming time quickly pays for itself.

Doing the capped version (esp. if you have 2 characters) is an option.
