It's about number of reports on an account during a time and place. Enough of that gets the STFU's attention while also giving a perfect filter for them to microscope everything someone is doing. Ejin's streams was sufficient for mass's of people to report him and his alts at a specific time and place. Easy enough for some overworked SE employee to look in the logs and say "yep cheating *click* next case".

Then how do you explain Odoro? He is still active with countless reports. You guys act like he has 20,000 people watching him every time. FFXI barely gets views, much less from a "gm" or task force member, lmao.

Show of hands how many people before right now actually bothered to report Odoro on the STF page? What did you write? Something actionable or just whine that you messed up?

Oh, all zero of you? Really?

He used addons, that is confirmed. According to your logic and his, they would see he is using 3rd party addons and ban him. That obviously isn't the case as he is still going as of right now. I personally reported him and I know for a fact many of my friends did.

That implies that SE's lone intern responsible for checking these STD reports gets to all the reports in a timely manner.

I'd be willing to bet for every legit report, there are 3 or 4 troll reports bogging down the system.

Exactly that. A list of emailed reports gets checked once a week, whoever is on top, or lucky #11 goes to round two

Round two is a heads or tails for a ban at the end of the month.

You want someone to lose, buy them more entries.

I would think that just saying "Third party scripting tools to repeat an action" would be all you have to say, but I'm sure some autistic folks like to write out a thesis about it.

Bruh, you serious?
Thats someone recording their own character to show evidence of how the hqsynth.lua worked.

Someone said above that the twitter account was using crafting hacks because this video is on his channel, I'm pointing out it is not him that is doing that and it's just a rehosted video of some NA player.

Exactly this. I remember seeing the original one when it was up before Square Enix had YouTube pull it down. Also, it's clear that it's not the jpn client anyway.

Your inability to understand how the magic of video editing works doesn't equate to that player using 3rd party tools.
except clearly he is running 3 accounts, and his youtube profile has video of him doing the hq synth hack.

Running three accounts doesn't necessitate that he's running them on one computer. He could very well be screen capturing on three different computers then moving those video files to one computer for his video editing. Furthermore, it could have been three separate players working in tandem to document the action and then later share their capture to the video editor. Granted, he could be running on three on the same box; it's just not verifiable from our end. Let's not jump to conclusions.

It would have been nice if each point-of-view had the in-game clock displayed so that we could soft verify they were all in sync. I would have also liked to have seen the names. ?

Note: I shouldn't have to explain that this is a non-political hybrid of the "Thanks, Obama" meme combined with Asura's resident item thief Odoro that sits right on top of the NPC Oboro and scripts to accept traded items in order to steal valuable items intended for Oboro. No implied or expressed political affiliations intended.

Edit: ...but if I do have your attention, could someone get on the two week backlog of accepted images submitted. Tired of looking at the ones on the main page.

But are you sure that Odoro wasnt banned already, multiple times?

Doesnt need mich for Odoros player receive a perma then create a new char. Because you can set an Odoro up and running in few minutes (i mean, theorically because i never checked Odoro, so idk what sort of progression he has).

it makes no sense but what odoro does isn't as egregious in SE's eyes.

they take automation of multiple characters a lot more seriously than automation of one.

both should be banned, what ejiin does and what odoro does. again, this is not a claim that i don't use similar things to what ejiin does, but i'm also not surprised when i get banned and i dont stream to hundreds asking for pity. i'm also willing to lose my characters.

all that really needs to be said on this subject. stop using send/automated gearswap/roller/singer if you don't want to be banned.

Send isn't a bot, it's a multibox aid. It's basically a messenger pigeon, sending your command to your other characters to bypass alt tab. You still have to manually press each button to send those commands over from a macro, to each character. If you have a whm alt and do not hit the command for your alt to cure, you're going to die.

The problem here is that send looks like a bot, and the people who are watching you on a stream or even carrying out an investigation may not actually fully understand what send is and assume it is a bot. As such you can get reported for botting and banned for botting when using send. Gkeys on a gaming keyboard are exactly the same, because they don't just work on current instance but all.

Many people using these addons just assume everyone knows what these tools are. They don't. When you make a judgement call on what is and is not safe you're doing so based on full knowledge of how they work, if the person doing the investigation or the person reporting does not have that then your calculation is worthless.

But isn't a bot also a multibox aid?

Since you need to press a button for a send command to work and it's not a bot, does that mean a bot such as cureplease isn't really a bot since you need to press a button to enable it?

I mean, if they work on all instances, that's because of the implementation used on the third party software interpreting the G-keys. FFXI doesn't read them.

Send is different from a bot from the user's perspective, but from the server's perspective it isn't. The character it's directing is acting without local input.
