I recently came after 2-3 year back to final fantasy xi
I would like to know the damage output for Knights of Round ONLY

I will update the gear soon on what I have.

It's 5.0 ftp with 68% damage bonus.... It's not bad if you're a tanky pld needing Regen, refresh and block chance.

Had to double check date on this thread thought it was a necro from 2010 lol.

It’s actually not a bad ws and skillchains with savage. Stack WSD, STR and attack. Should be your best ws at 1k tp but when you overflow use savage.

Edit: welcome back! Pld update next month so fingers crossed it get the buff the job needs.

Knights of Round: single-hit, 5.0 fTP, STR 40% MND 40% mods.

Check the PLD guide for an updated Savage Blade set, a KoR set should be exactly the same.

Did players lose their marbles here no wonder SE is not working on the relic sword for an upgrade?

Since when players that play PLD be so dull. You work hard on a weapon and then you give up on the weapon skill? Did you guys buy your account?

If not, Didn't we all worked hard when killing mobs to grind this sword its a relic the best sword in the game and it should be.

Why haven't we started a thread on SE website forum?

Don't like the idea what my PLD friends are doing here...not many are loyal PLD as their main job.

its not the best sword and i have that i played with it too but never with rank 15, u can do 15k-25k KOTR with buffs in omen, But u know its not worth it, WS Gearswap can kill a paladin. CDC or savage with the odin set is nice

R15 it’s a very solid WS with great SC properties.

The upcoming changes to reprisal plus the block rate+10 could be very interesting going forward.

Its only occasional when it happens, so its not that great ID say like a 10% chance of happening. I have never paid attention to it happening on a multi attack as I am only using in main hand.

Plugged Naegling in to compare against Savage Blade, KoR Excal edges out by an insignificant (8 DPS) margin. O3D is clutch.

Also realized I forgot about 10% crit rate, but that shouldn't be a huge deal and further favors Excal.

KoR has stellar skill chain properties though, so that's something to consider. KoR > SB (Light) > KoR (Light)

No. I don't have a PLD leveled, much less an Excalibur. Screen shots aren't necessary though, all damage in the game is based on math readily available for players to make use of.

I can see KoTR doing pretty good damage on an R15 Excal. 5.0 50/50 seems small but it has a 68% increase in total damage that brings it closer to 8.4. If dual wielding then it's 10.08 fTP with the first 8.4 having WSD applied to it and any MA's being worth another 1.68 fTP per hit. That is at 1000TP and with far better SC properties. If my BLU could use Excal then I'd already have one upgraded for multi-stepping alone.

WHile I agree that that's a good SC, I have trouble imagining PLD getting TP fast enough to 3 step reliably without Mythic AM3. Sometimes it doesn't make it even with AM3. Could do it with enough mobs feeding you TP via shield mastery, though.

Yeah that's the big issue. If you're actually getting TP fast enough to 4step something of note, you're probably in DD gear and buffed to hell... at which point why not any DD? And then if it's block powered 4steps... what are you fighting with enough stuff to let you 4step and also an NM worth 4stepping. Savage>CDC>KoR>Savage is your 4step with xcal btw.

RDM can kinda use it since they do weird low man adventure things and can actually generate enough TP without too much extra support but not so much PLD.

Whats up with this obsession of calling mobs by their "difficulty" description. That was accurate maybe at 75lv cap, but not in 2020. There is too many buffs, debuffs and mechanics specific to some zones.

Just say which mobs you want to target, where and why.
