Let's start a riot?!?!

This looks to be as credible as your claims yesterday. So, highly then.
Thanks for your verification for Hideka Vic.
Not at all, multiple people tried to verify his made up claims yesterday and none of us had any luck. Now he watches some garbage Fox News interview with people out of the loop and we are supposed to believe them? Not happening, its a complete fabrication. For those who aren't fluent in Vicinese:
"I don't agree with him, so I'm going to make ***up and demean his viewpoints because they go against my ideology. I never have to prove anything, but you have to take my opinion as fact because that is all I have and if you don't like it, I will demean you too."
Awwwwwwwwww. Good thing this didn't happen today or yesterday.

its comical to watch the ideological left basically devolve into neo-racists, and basically work towards undoing the entire civil rights movement.
you could have told me this was gonna happen ten years ago, and id have called you a crazy person and blocked you. never in a million years did i see this paradigm shift coming.
It's comical to read this post. Yes, "the left" is certainly trying to "undo the civil rights movement." No more voting for black people! Yea, this is definitely happening right now. /eyeroll
I wouldn’t so much say “undo” as “reimagine”. The paradigm has shifted. The goal isn’t Dr. King’s dream anymore.
Really? You don't think Dr. King would be standing up against the police murdering black people and hiding behind their blue wall for the last century? Pretty sure he would be marching out there with the millions of other peaceful protesters calling for reforms.

I didn’t mean just this one thing specifically. I also think he would have stood with the protestors, though I think he would have been much more proactive than just sitting on the powder keg and waiting for something like this to happen.

In other words, his message would have been irrelevant and, if he was alive and trying to portray a message in today's political climate, you would have never heard from him, ever.

We all have rose-colored glasses for Dr. King. He’s like Lincoln. People fit him into their world view and assume he’d be on their side. That’s why I specifically mentioned his Dream speech, because it’s way easier to compare the content of one speech to what’s going on in the modern day than trying to guess what MLK would or wouldn’t do if he were still around. He was a great man, but he was still a man, and his positions evolved with time.

this has been happening for a while. Remember the civil war wasn't started because of slavery until we changed it to be so.

Quote: In what’s now known as the “Cornerstone Speech,” Stephens told a Savannah, Ga., crowd in 1861 that “our new government is founded upon exactly the opposite ideas [as those of slavery foes]; its foundations are laid, its cornerstone rests, upon the great truth that the negro is not equal to the white man; that slavery, subordination to the superior race, is his natural and normal condition. This, our new government, is the first, in the history of the world, based upon this great physical, philosophical, and moral truth.”
He went further: the battle over slavery “was the immediate cause of the late rupture and present revolution.”

It would have been because a police officer knelt on his neck for 9 minutes and killed him while he cried out for help.

The entire situation happened because all 5 of them have/had poor character and little to no sense of personal responsibility. It's nothing to do with systemic oppression by the white man. How many well off successful, law abiding black men or women are killed by police every year?
13% of the population, 50% of murders and 50% of murderers, no protests.
Was it the police who killed Tupac or Biggy?
But yeah, black lives matter, when it's politically convenient.

I don't think it's relevant who those people are. Things have been stacking over time for a while now. With Covid-19 turning everyone into coach activist because they don't have anything to do, dropping businesses like flies, angering a lot of people. They need to vent. A single spark starts a wildfire.
I doubt half of these would care enough about BLM normally, they just don't have anything else to do but start a riot.

this could probably be its own thread ~
Mar. 1861 we have the Corwin Amendment proposal - basically Congress couldn't interfere with any state, allowing the states to self govern ~ could see this as allowing the states to keep slaves Quote: “No amendment shall be made to the Constitution which will authorize or give to Congress the power to abolish or interfere, within any State, with the domestic institutions thereof, including that of persons held to labor or service by the laws of said State.” ~ Lincoln didn't oppose it
in July 1861 we get the he Crittenden–Johnson Resolution (not to be confused with the compromise) ~ The resolution said the war was being fought not for "overthrowing or interfering with the rights or established institutions of those states," but to "defend and maintain the supremacy of the Constitution and to preserve the Union." The war, it further stated, would end when the seceding states returned to the Union.
Prior to the war the south was heavily dependent on goods manufactured from the north, likewise the north was heavily dependent on the cash crops of the south. When the 1828 tariff was raised the south started to opened free trade ports that could've jeopardized the north's economy
If the war was being fought over slavery then it would've been addressed as to the reason the union was going to war. One would think there would've been some proposal to end slavery before war was the option
~imo from what I learned/researched etc, the war was primarily about state rights and economics, not slavery

what's going on in Seattle looks kinda wild

The Precinct building appears empty, Capitol Hill Seattle Blog reported, and now the six-block region has been declared “autonomous.”

You are starting way too far ahead in the timeline. I'll address this more later, I'm cooking dinner atm. But if you want to talk about the origins of the Civil War, you can't start that far into 1861. You really can't even start in 1861. I'll cut it short, but Lincoln was elected in Nov 1860. In December 1860, South Carolina seceded from the Union because an abolitionist had just been elected President. Before he even took office in March of 1861, 7 states had seceded because they perceived the election of Lincoln to be a hostile act to the existence of slavery.

Even though those statistics may well be correct, it is completely missing the point and utterly counterproductive. It's equivalent to saying someone who murders 2 people is morally superior to someone who murders 10. Lumping groups of people in to statistical boxes based on provenance of birth would be, in my opinion the singular problem we have as a people (world-wide), be it abject <enter -ism here> or identity politics. Wouldn't it stand to reason that the highest violent crime rates would be in locations with the greatest concentration of poor and under-educated? This just so happens to correlate nicely with the ethnic breakdown of these regions. I'm certain if the color swath was inverted, the statistics would be, too. I can only speak for myself here, but the main reason, morality notwithstanding, I have never robbed a bank is because I can afford not to.
People aren't a monolith, and statistics are meaningless without context. Sick to death of everyone throwing out pointless statistics to justify their opinions. The topic at hand is whether a system is failing the Black community, or at least portions thereof, not which skin color kills more people of what skin color per capita, and people would do well to avoid falling in to the what-about-ism traps. This system is very likely good and works as intended for the vast majority of people of all ilks, but the statistics are no consolation to the people the system fails.

Just end this.
I don't trust Fox News anymore than I trust CNN....basically everyone else. They all have bits of truth woven into a fabric of an agenda. But since you and those like you ONLY attack the ONE network that is not left-leaning, it obliterates any credibility your statements may have in the realm of being objective. Just once admit none of the networks are consistently telling the whole story (for a reason).

Gotta love the people assuming they know about MLK while forgetting he had police dogs sicced on him, fire hoses turned against him, and eventually assassinated because of his beliefs in civil rights.
"I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season." Shallow understanding from people of good will is more frustrating than absolute misunderstanding from people of ill will. Lukewarm acceptance is much more bewildering than outright rejection."
https://www.africa.upenn.edu/Articles_Gen/Letter_Birmingham.html
And I counter with Malcolm X, someone more in line with your radical ideology than Dr. King:
"The worst enemy that the Negro have is this white man that runs around here drooling at the mouth professing to love Negros and calling himself a liberal, and it is following these white liberals that has perpetuated problems that Negros have. If the Negro wasn't taken, tricked or deceived by the white liberal, then Negros would get together and solve our own problems. I only cite these things to show you that in America, the history of the white liberal has been nothing but a series of trickery designed to make Negros think that the white liberal was going to solve our problems. Our problems will never be solved by the white man." ~ Malcolm X

Long story short on this, this poor girl basically had terrible judgment in boyfriends. (Not saying she deserved to die for this before the zealots get it twisted).
Apparently, her former boyfriend was a known drug dealer. The police had been monitoring not only her apartment (because of the former boyfriend) but his new place as well. They'd seen her car at his new place on numerous occasions and they had evidence that he'd been coming to her apt. to pick up packages sent there which they somehow discovered were drug deliveries. Now it appears that her current boyfriend was also in the drug sales scene, so they linked the packages and two dealers to her apartment.
They served a "No Knock" warrant by busting in her door at like 3 am. Her current boyfriend claims he and her called out a couple times, "Who's there?" and nobody responded. They then saw people coming in with guns, so he retrieved his gun (which he had a permit for) and started firing, thinking they were thieves (or most likely) drug business associates. The police returned fire naturally, somehow hitting the poor girl 8 times and of course, the boyfriend was basically somehow unharmed.
So yeah, that poor girl got accidentally executed for having bad taste in men and wrong place/wrong time. I also feel this should make them do some serious thought on ending the practice of No Knock warrants.
