my life was dog ***for the first twenty years of it. i quite literally went from living in section 8 for the majority of my childhood, from an extremely absuive family, to a massive stint through drug use and crime, blaming my shitty job for not paying me more, blaming everyone else for my problems.

i nearly beat someone to death over something at 21; i was in cuffs in a cop car, and on my way to jail. that experience woke me the *** up and realized that it wasnt everyone elses fault why i was failing. luckily i never went to prison due to the circumstances, but i figured that out twelve years ago, that the only way for me to be better was to actually own my *** problems and mistakes, and ever since i've done nothing but continue to be a better person each day once i realized how *** stupid i had been. Now im making six figures and on my way to starting a family - something i'd have never thought i could do when i was 21 and spiraling out of control.

We’re constantly being told to remember the atrocities committed against blacks. How are we supposed to do that when more and more past examples of it are being purged? History rewritten is lessons unlearned.

The answer is not sterilization of history, but proper teaching of it. We neutered history, tried to make it palatable to young minds, and it became yet another book in the backpack, not lessons learned to avoid their repetition.

To be fair, it's not just history that is being neglected in today's society....

When teachers are encouraging social activism and less about basic education, you know you have a large problem.

I won't say they aren't, but I will say that the leaders in the education system are what made the Civil Rights movement of the 1960s extend beyond church groups protesting in just southern cities and develop into a national movement of all cultures.

Ex veterans are starting to gather around statues and monuments to keep them from being destroyed and vandalised in the UK and the media are labeling them as far-right counter demonstrators.
