Let's start a riot?!?!

give the low income jobs to the kids in high school/college so they can start learning how to pay taxes and what it means to earn $. maybe we can have less kids who become adults that think they're entitled to everything and deserve a participation trophy

If everyone was able to better themselves, there would be no one to exploit and the whole system would collapse.
If everyone was able to better themselves, we'd have a country full of engineers, scientists, and doctors. We'd have the best medicine, the best technology, the best software. Those minimum wage jobs you consider to be exploitative would be done by robots, and quality of living would be ****ing amazing because every other country would be sucking our *** to get a taste of what we put out.
Having an entire country of intelligent and educated people is the opposite of a problem. But, it's not in the cards.

Civil liberties are worth risking infection/dying for.
Yeah, if that is your, "choice." You don't get to choose with an airborne pathogen, which is the point they made over and over and over and over...."Stop being selfish! The chain of COVID will infect tens of thousands!"
But yeah, tens of thousands of possible deaths is worth it when a cop kills a guy. Sorry but no. It was not just a suggestion.

Pieces of ***killing humans is something we can and should reasonably expect to control. We can't control who gets sick enough to die from covid.

This is how it's supposed to work "entry level" isn't supposed to be being done by 40 year olds, but here we are. Senior citizens bagging groceries.

This is literally what I said. (our) system (as it is) would collapse. And it is entirely possible (in the cards, as it were) but it won't work until everyone stops accepting wage slavery as "normal".

Ask literally anyone why they work a minimum wage(ish) job. 100% will say "I don't have a choice" (obviously discounting death that's a "choice")
Night school says hi
GTFO off your lazy ***, Let a bot farm sparks for you while your there IDGAF - Just better yourself.
Million other things you can do to better yourself instead of making excuses. ***... sell gil...

It's got nothing to do with me. I'm ***' golden. I don't work a wage slave job. It's the other ~100 million that do.

Don't even need school if you can network and actually know a skill. Paywalls only apply to certain fields, and even in those there are often exceptions. Fact is, with the internet, the ability to better yourself is there for everyone.
Can't afford college? Teach yourself to be a tradesman, teach yourself a software skill, teach yourself how to run a small business. There are people in every small town in the country doing ***like tree cutting, stump grinding, painting, mechanical work. You can take small jobs to fund the machinery you need that'll get you into the big money.
Fact is, if you are working minimum wage it is at least partially by choice. If you don't have the ability to be a leader or take your future into your own hands, that's nobody's fault but your own.

Here's the best way to enslave a race in modern times:
Convince them there is some invisible force that is stopping them from succeeding and that they cannot circumvent this force without help.
Then, convince them you are the only ones willing to help them, whether you actually do so or not.
Democratic platform since 1964. And, it's worked out well for the Democrats. Not so much for minorities.

It may be their own fault. But there is no shortage of slave owners lining up to exploit them for it. You don't see (m)any lining up to try to help them out.

Bingo. And "nowadays"...a 4 year college education is basically the current day equivalent of what a high school education was in the early '80s to employers, studies have shown. They are a dime a dozen. In actuality, trade schools and manual labor craftsmen, such as electricians/woodworkers/metal workers/body shop mechanics are blowing up the past decade in pay scale comparisons with people that have a basic 4 year degree.
And, they usually don't come out of their schooling owing the government tens of thousands of dollars in loans.

As soon as august hits and everyone has to go back to work because they won't get the $600 UI you're going to see wage riots.
People finally get to see what it looks like for 3-4 months above minimum wage, they aren't going to go back without a fight. At least I hope. It's a systemic problem just as bad as the police. (not literally, just on the same level of *** up and corrupt) Maybe even worse (objectively), more po folks affected by wage slavery than police.

Ok so when we DON'T see "wage riots," are you going to give one of us a prize for being wrong? :P

No, because I'm not wrong, It just hasn't "broken the camels back" yet. I may be wrong about the TIMING, not the situation.
Seems like a perfect time for it to happen though.
(it may never actually happen either, see; desperation)

It was literally a suggestion. literally.
When governors shut down businesses based on the advice of the "medical experts" and people started getting fined/arrested for not adhering to those, "suggestions" those then are literally not suggestions.

Stay at home and social distance
Aka: don't protest. Suggestion.
Closed businesses, completely different topic, still closed even with protesters.

There was no "or else"
Some places gave tickets or being reckless. Michigan police could still give those tickets out to protesters, that law is still active.

But they are scared to death to give those tickets for current "protesters" who include people demolishing, but chose to give them out to those actually peacefully protesting stay-at-home orders. Hypocrisy.

Well they finally got rid of the curfew this morning, maybe the rioting has finally died down.
Unfortunately, even if it does die down, the media will continue to push the issue because they are not through putting their collective feet up on their desk and copy/pasting their stories from other sites for their hot button topic quota. Three weeks left in June!
By Draylo 2020-06-08 02:29:33
It isn't so uncommon sadly, kids in schools are being taught to hate America these days. I've seen such a hatred for this country even though those same ungrateful people don't realize there are countries 20x worse. Grew up so privileged they don't realize how good they have it compared to others.

60%+ of the United States work force, roughly 78.6m people, is predominantly in fields with notoriously low wages.
Good luck finding enough high skill jobs to slot them all into. And finding enough people to fill those low wage jobs, unless you want to see those industries die and any attached industries to be crippled.

Yes, there are haves and have nots. Has always been this way since the dawn of mankind. Will never change as long as mankind exists. Should probably focus on something that can actually be changed I think is all most are saying.
People without high skills shouldn't be in high skilled jobs.

This reminds me of my ex gf. Every time we had a thunderstorm, she'd panic, yell at me to rush to the basement and grab all the dogs (we use to foster shelter/rescue dogs so we'd tend to have 8 or more at any given time) because she feared it would become a tornado.
Now maybe ONE of those times she may have been right, but it still didn't justify the 900 times she thought it would be a tornado and yelled at me to run to the basement. It wouldn't have made her, "right" if it just happened to occur, eventually.

Eh, the premise was that everyone currently(ish) employed bettered themselves to qualify for virtually every job they could want in a well paying field.
The system, as it stands, can not function with a predominantly high skilled work force. Unless you're game for forcing high skilled workers into piss poor paying low skill jobs to maintain the status quo

Right, you need a low skilled labor force. But that doesn't equate to paying them more simply because even though there are actually more low skilled jobs and they are needed, there are still a TON more low skilled laborers to fill those positions. Supply/demand principles.
And yes, not everyone who works to "better themselves" is going to hit the high skilled job lottery. I have two degrees (that are not completely paid off after a couple decades) and I'm poor as an ice maker in Antarctica.
