unlimited resources for everyone in a MMO will bore people pretty quickly, once ppl start cheating in a game its only a matter of time till they lose interest.
there are only 2 types of cheaters that stick around longer; RMT cause of the money and those that get a off over having a unfair advantage.

i'm surprised no MMO has tried to utilize a more intrusive anti cheat and i'm curious how its going to work out for riots new shooter. maybe go even further and request a unique ID befor they can join the service so a ban couldn't be as easily circumvented.

I came back 2 months ago now I'm taking a break again. I got burnt out easy because no content release since dynamis D in 2017, Odyssey doesn't count.

Yeah they are really making the game stagnant by not adding new content... It is getting pretty bad.

FFXI ended when abyssea released. The developers even said the game was over. This game doesn't even have much content anymore, it's a chat box to *** around in. Hopefully whoever is cheating continues to exploit and really ramps it up. I think some people need to snap out of worrying about the integrity of a 20 year old game with 6000 active players.

I think the worse part of not releasing engaging content is the fact they released new stuff under the guise of new content (looking at you revamped DI and odyssey) that is brutally easy while releasing top tier gear from it.

Maybe FFXI ended when you stopped having fun - it's still alive and well for all the players who enjoy the combat system while playing with friends. We only want more content to challenge our selves and for them to fix exploits in a timely manner

People have been saying this game is dead for over 10 years. I still don't get why people concern themselves with others who pay for a product and still enjoy it and want it to last. Just because the game is old or has a low population doesn't mean people shouldn't expect a decent product for what they are paying monthly.

I have to think what the star wars galaxies community was like in the end of its active life cycle. This one has so many that actively want the game to just shut down lol. Most that come out of the woodwork with snark remarks for people who still enjoy it. The game isn't expensive, if people find enjoyment out of it and want it to keep going, why care?

I think it went the same way with SWG too, they wanted to create a new MMO so they killed off the old one to make people move over. I wonder how the Everquest and those old games are doing these days. Or is FFXI just the most toxic one out of all the "oldies"

If you look at how many players are active right now across all servers then subtract a realistic RMT player / multibox count from that, the numbers look like 6000 to me active at any moment. Just hop around from server to server and /sea all. If there were players, there would be content and bans
