»>200+$ to do literally nothing
What in the *** *** is this. Do you get goodies for this price? Do you participate in a tournament and what not?
Jesus christ, land of the FREE.
yes, you get some goodies from various booths, but it's also a gigantic event where thousands upon thousands of people who share your interests are going to be around.. try games before they're released, hear news in person instead of on livestream
bar crawl after end of events every day, wild hotel room sex, etc.. you're paying for an awesome experience and if it's your bag of tea it's certainly not anywhere near a ripoff for the price
I'm comparing this to the Mecca of fighting games (in the US), that's double the price for not even 10% of the activities/experiences.
Also from the perspective of someone who's been on the other side, here this kind of event is usually priced 20€/£ (25~30$) and the actual money making is from the food sold at the venue.
I find it really surprising/shocking to see the money making in the entrance price rather than in the food or other stuff price.
We do have passes that are for more expensive stuff such as specific actors signing stuff or talking, specific presentation or exclusive stuff happening, it makes sense to pay more for those activities, but the basic pass being 200$? That's next level fisting, no lie.
