So, speaking of stupid interpretations like this, apparently there are a bunch of leftists in the media claiming that this is "trial run" for Trump's "Gestapo" to "steal the election" at the "request of Putin". I put these in quotes because they're all incredibly ridiculous claims that are being put forth as legitimate concerns. I swear these people will believe anything.
Are these the same people who said that they had proof in their hands that Trump colluded with Russia to steal the election from innocent Clinton?

A video gone viral Sunday said to show a section of the border fence being blown down by Hurricane Hanna was likely taken a month before the storm slammed the South Texas Coast, U.S. Customs and Border Protection said Monday.

"The video circulating on social media appears to be from June 2020 when high winds caused several border wall panels that were pending additional anchoring to fall over at a construction site near Deming, New Mexico," the federal agency said in a statement. "That project is funded by the Department of Defense using 2808 Military Construction Funds, so any questions regarding the incident should be directed to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers."

If you look at what's happening in Portland you kinda have to wonder if tactics like those will be used on election day.

Personally I think the post office is going to have massive "unforeseeable" problems. Especially in democratic led cities.

But yes Rav, people will believe anything.

I hope you remember next time to not automatically assume the worst from anything you see online. Especially if it goes with your political agenda.

That's the only way you can be cured from TDS.

In the past, Ms Immanuel has made several dubious medical claims, including the harmful effects of having sexual relations with demons and witches while dreaming, the alleged use of alien DNA in various medicines, and the production of a vaccine to inoculate people against being religious....

I LOVE that one, it's my favorite. I love the idea that you could control someones mind, but religion is the thing you would opt to target. I mean think of what you could do with that instead... the possibilities are quite literally limitless.

Donald Trump calls for delay to 2020 US presidential election
CNN

Quote:
Donald Trump has called for November's presidential election to be postponed, saying increased postal voting could lead to fraud and inaccurate results.

He suggested a delay until people can "properly, securely and safely" vote.

You knew this was coming.

Never mind that a news station did a dry test of mail-in ballots and found that, while eventually 97 out of 100 ballots were mailed out to the "requests," 95 out of the 97 arrived greater than a week from the request. Since nearly all states who are allowing mail-in voting up to the week in question, that means that nearly all of those (95 out of 100) ballots would be considered late and ineligible for count.

So, anyone still wants to defend mail-in ballots?

Literally has nothing to do with trying to delay the election, something that Trump has no authority to do. Funny tho. Mail in voting is fine, plenty of states have been doing it for years, if not decades. Its just pure fearmongering because the entire GOP party is fading. The election will proceed on the day the Constitution mandates.

Strange, Trump makes a suggestion and you automatically assume it's a decree.

Either you are being overtly factious or you hold President Trump at a much higher regard. I'm guessing it's the former.

For absentee voting, not for overall voting.

Again, you do not understand the process that absentee voting goes through (you still have to arrive at the election's office prior to the election, fill out a form, show your identification, and know what the address it is to send to, and swear under oath that everything you say is true and accurate, in front of a judge). I did this for the 2008 presidential election, because I was studying abroad in Japan during that time.

It is 100% completely different than what is proposed by states, because this is the first election where pure mail-in ballots are being allowed in nearly all states, except California. Even then, California has the greatest number of voter fraud in the country due to mail-in ballots.

Oh hey, improper use of bold and underline, a common theme with some people.

This isn't the first time delaying the election has come up from the GOP, hell we have seen certain idiots here call for it. Previously Trump has said he doesn't support it, but now that he is facing a wipe out, its no surprise that he is floating the idea. It can't happen, but we are gonna continue to enjoy the desperation.

Also, I know the difference between mail in voting and absentee voting, I've also voted absentee. Nice assumption tho.

When the two biggest issues with mail in voting so far in 2020 have been ballots not arriving on time and difficulties with signatures, two issues that don't involve voters committing fraud, there is no reason to be screaming about it as loud as Trump and his supporters are. Mail in voting is gonna happen in 2020. And everything will be ok.

Personal attacks towards me and others here aside, I highly doubt you understand or have attempted absentee voting before, based on this statement:

You are confusing 2 completely different procedures and requirements, whereas mail-in ballots only are requested by the voter in question, and they are mailed out to the registered voter a week in advance, whereas absentee voting requires you to prove that you will be out of the district you want to vote in, due to work and/or school, and you are still a resident of said district. You also have to swear under oath, and under penalty of perjury that everything you say is true to the best of your knowledge.

You just stated one of the biggest openings of fraud. You have just shown that fraud can occur, and you are willing to accept it.

Well, not me. And not those who want the election to be fair.

It's not the matter of "if", it's the matter of "allowing it".

"If" wouldn't exist if we do not "allow it."

Your doubts don't mean anything, once again, I know the difference between mail in voting and absentee voting. I'm not confusing them at all. I voted absentee in 2012. I'll be voting by mail in 2020. Everything will be just fine.

Also, ballots not arriving on time is not fraudulent. And, signature issues are also not fraudulent. If someone forgets to sign their ballot, they aren't committing fraud. Once again, thus far in 2020, voters committing fraud has been as mythical as it always is. The only people trying to make a big deal out of it are the people that want low turnout.

Maybe not in every case, but if the person who is voting "on behalf of another" tries to sign using their signature, it is fraud.

Again, the opening is there, and you are willing to accept it.

You really do not know what voting fraud it, do you? I mean, if you did, you wouldn't be using the "ballots not arriving on time is not fraudulent" argument, which nobody said it was.

But that is an error in the system, and it's not being addressed at all. How do you feel if your vote wasn't counted because it didn't arrive due to mail issues? I guess you would accept it, giving your demeanor and arguments.

Viciouss said: »

We haven't had a general national election in 2020 yet. That occurs in November, for crying out loud.

And even then, the primaries have shown the weaknesses loud and clear, where many ballots are not counted because of the late arrival, and in some cases, up to 20% of ballots never even made it to the voters in question due to lack of support.

Viciouss said: »

Untrue also. Especially since we have an Electoral College system and it would benefit more from a higher turnout than a lower one.

Keep peddling falsehoods, Vic. Keep being you.

Pelosi dings Trump's idea of delaying election

Quote:
Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) responded to President Trump’s tweet floating the idea of moving the election by tweeting a quote from the Constitution that cites the Congressional authority needed to do so.

“Article II, Section 1 of the Constitution states: ‘The Congress may determine the Time of choosing the Electors, and the Day on which they shall give their Votes; which Day shall be the same throughout the United States,’” Pelosi tweeted Thursday.

Pelosi’s tweet was in response to Trump’s from earlier in the day, floating the idea of moving Election Day — which as president he lacks the power to do unilaterally. He also again slammed mail-in voting, with baseless claims that it leads to voter fraud.

After the president’s tweet, “President Pelosi” trended on Twitter, with users noting that even if an election is delayed, Trump’s term in office would be up in January making Pelosi the next in line.

FEC gets in on it as well

Quote:
Federal Elections Commission (FEC) Commissioner Ellen Weintraub flatly stated on Thursday that the executive branch does not have the power to delay a presidential election after President Trump stirred an uproar by raising the idea in an early morning tweet.

“No, Mr. President. No,” Weintraub said in a statement shared on Twitter. "You don't have the power to move the election. Nor should it be moved."

"States and localities are asking you and Congress for funds so they can properly run the safe and secure elections all Americans want," she added. "Why don't you work on that?"

Even the GOP isn't feeling it

Quote:
A Republican lawmaker broke with President Trump on Thursday and said he would oppose any attempts to delay the November election after Trump floated the idea.

“Reminder: Election dates are set by Congress,” Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.) tweeted in response to the president. "And I will oppose any attempts to delay the #2020Election."

Thats quite a morning pile on. Poor Trump.
