If these things require herd immunity to fully peter out, then why are we complaining that others are volunteering themselves as virus bait?
Talk to Sweden about how that herd immunity worked out for them.

What I can't understand is why the republican intelligentsia chattering class wants to kill off republican voters.
Honest question, what are liberals waiting for when it comes to Covid? A cure? For a virus? It just doesn't seem rational to stay "shut down" indefinitely waiting for something mankind has never created in the history of medicine. So, what's the end game here? The media doesn't really make that clear, so people get antsy.
My age alone is a high risk bracket. Nothing to do with my politics but mask and disposa gloves when I am in out small summer tourist town.

I don't know that I am waiting, just one day at a time.

Right, same for my mother. But I can only imagine if I spent my entire life savings on my own small business, which a very high percentage don't survive 5 yrs on a normal year and as we all know....2020 is not a normal year. This shutdown isn't affecting the Big Boys....Bezos gained like 30 billion during lockdown to invest in more media control via WAPO.

So those small business folks unfortunately can't be like you and I and just "wait it out" to see what happens. People commit suicide all the time when their life's dreams go up in flames, so it's more than just money on the line.

The difference between an idealist and a realist is the realist grew up and realized to get this perfect world you dream of, you'd have to remove humans. Any historical attempt to try and change the human condition has ended in massive failure ending in the loss of tens of millions of lives. Doesn't sound like winning, either.

One of the problems with such utopian ideals is that the types of people who are brutal enough to make them to happen are the types of people who don't deserve to live in the society once it's built. You don't want murderous psychopaths in charge because they're never satisfied. Half the reason why true communism and socialism fail is because the powerful will never give up their power and luxury for true equality, so they live the high life while everyone else suffers.

There are similarities in democratic systems as well. The types of people who would care more about their constituents than their own glory are the types of people who don't want the office in the first place.

So on the brightside, "not too many" idiots went to the rally (not idiots because R, idiots because virus)

On the not so brightside, "not too many" is still too many. Protesters too.

If you know someone who went, avoid them like the plague... because literally, they are the plague.

You see the interview with one of the Denver Broncos (American football payer) Kareem Jackson?

He and 2 of his teammates joined the BLM rally in Denver. Something like 10 or 11 days later, he was diagnosed with Covid. IN his interview, he made it a point to state (in his professional medical opinion, of course): “It definitely wasn’t from the march,” Jackson told 9 News’ Mike Klis. Just so, you know, logical people couldn't say those protests were hypocritical showings of ignoring the medical communities, "suggestions."

Because Covid is a very political virus. It just wouldn't infect someone during a liberal rally. That's out of the question.

It was in Tulsa...I'm pretty sure I couldn't even locate Tulsa off the top of my head on a map. I'd say that had as much to do with the turnout as any nutjob conspiracy.

Your inability to know where a major city is located in a podunk *** state is irrelevant. The number of citizens (both rally goers and protesters) that did show up the sheer volume of law enforcement, local and state, present should be of interest.

Most Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers were activated to respond to the rally leaving 10~12 troopers to work the rest of the state. That's not an exaggeration, Oklahoma has 77 counties, I was informed OHP had 2 troopers to cover 5 counties on day shift, 1 for those counties on evening shift. And those are for the higher populated counties, western Oklahoma is up ***'s creek.

Anyways, what this means is that all of those state troopers from all over Oklahoma could potentially have been exposed to covid. If any of them are they become a typhoid Mary coming into contact with people, both residents of Oklahoma and people passing through, daily. OHP has no quotas.....they do have "recommended daily average contacts" meaning they would like to see each trooper contact at least 10 people per day. Most get that in the first two hours of shift. 700 troopers contacting 10 people minimum per day, anyone want to try to math that out with the amount of unknowns?

Proof republican voters aren't as stupid as republican politicians and pundits think:

Trump stokes culture wars, but low turnout mars Tulsa campaign rally
CNBC

Quote:
...
Talking up the rally last week, Trump said nearly a million people had requested tickets to attend. “We have a 22,000-seat arena, but I think we’re going to also take the convention hall next door, and that’s going to hold 40,000 ... We expect to have a record-setting crowd. We’ve never had an empty seat, and we certainly won’t in Oklahoma.”

But they did have empty seats. Approximately 13,000 of them, according to the Tulsa Fire Marshal, who counted slightly less than 6,200 attendees at the 19,000-seat Bank of Oklahoma Arena on Saturday night....

Yes but, it's really only because Covid is so political, it only activates during Trump rallies. So glad all the thousands protesting in the streets were immune to it's ravages being that, the virus knew their cause was just and true. Thanks, "Woke Covid!"

The "open up" protest AND the BLM protests both produced fewer infections than medical professionals expected.

Due to this epidemiologists are seriously reevaluating outdoor transmission models. Beaches might be safer than we think.

The story of the night was definitely the low turnout, despite people lining up days in advance, and protesters not hindering access in any way, the stadium was half empty. I've seen reports of the TikTok movement to scoop up tickets and then no show, which would be a hilarious prank if true. Nobody even cares what lies he spewed, it's all about those empty seats. This was a flop for the Trump campaign, heads are gonna roll.

Nah.

The real damage, if the scope of this Tiktok/kpop thing is even remotely true, is that the giant list of emails/potential donor data they obtained, is absolute garbage. Campaigns categorize potential donors/voters based on various criteria, and "willing to attend campaign events" scores VERY highly. Those lists are not just incredibly valuable to the originating campaign, but hold immense value for down-ballot races as well. It's WHY they hold campaign rallies.

Heads will almost certainly roll over this, but it's going to be about the loss of that data, not the empty seats. I mean, the pandemic gives you a built-in excuse for empty seats; "we spent a bunch of money to collect voter/donor information and the loona stans nuked it into pudding" is a bit harder to explain away.

So like the important thing to remember is they're not "tickets" even if people registered with 8 billion fake intentions, the arena still could have been filled. There was no limit and no physical entry barrier.

Regardless how many fake rsvp notices there were, the event was still unfilled.

But definitely all that fake data does have an impact as you say, just completely irrelevant to the rally itself and/or damage of inability to draw even the most devout followers.

They have completely denied the Tiktok story, instead choosing to run with the complete lie that the protesters (and the media) kept families and fans from attending. They were given an out, but instead not one mention of the pandemic, just blaming the "protesters," who had zero impact. The spin is hilarious.

How? Vote by mail, they have to send YOU a bar-coded ballot ahead of time. You can't just sign up for it like a new Twitter account. It isn't remotely the same thing.

Vote by mail. Paper ballots. There is no other answer that gives you secure, accessible elections.

Regardless of truth and the complete lack of parallels a good spin man can turn this completely on it's head.

"We had the best intentions, allowing users to voice their interest via third party applications (the internet substitute for the mail as it were) and the villainous left took the opportunity to show how willing they are to (vote) fraudulently"

Nothing has to be true or even make sense for someone to get on tv and convince people to believe it.
