What is the reason of magic finale bard uses after each dia 2?

We were feeling froggy and went brd/whm, geo/rdm, blu/war, cor/nin, drk/sam, sam/war.

Was expecting you all to be in Poroggo Coats. Disappointed.

Using Windower, you could set a higher resolution for the game and then adjust the UI scaling so your chat is still readable. Then you'd have a better-looking game at least.

Anyone have any solo strats for this guy for VE or E? Level ? Holy seems to one shot you every single time.

Cait Sith is a him.

The Cait Sith we know is female. The male Cait sith in the story line a separate entity. Without delving into any more plot spoilers, the entity known as "Cait Sith" is more than one single being. Our summoned version of the regal feline and the one we fight in the HTBF is definitely female.

Yes, it is. And the one we fight and summon, IE the one that acts as our guide through the storyline is the female. In fact, both the protagonists of the WoTG storyline, Lillisette and Cit Sith, are female. The male cait sith is the antagonist, who causes trouble for the heroes by doing something.... undesirable at one point. He isn't the one we sight or summon. He's the rival, not the guide. The cait sith we all know and love is the female one.

I don't know where you're seeing the him. This is taken directly from the in game menu.

That was from both the ffxiclopedia and BG wiki pages on that mission. SE must have ninja changed it at some point.

It was always like that in game. That just means the wiki was wrong. Someone just prefixed the wrong gender when they were typing out the text and it never got corrected.

EDIT: The old Allakhazam entry prefixes cait as a "her" and that dates back to 2008. It's just a wiki thing.

Hmm, I see. I thought it had to have originally been him because of multiple sources showing the error, but I guess it's possibly that wiki copying is just that widespread.

Finally got around to soloing this on Normal on MNK for crown. Easy fight with 5/5 Malignance. Used Brygid + Arciela 2 for the extra MDB, Yoran, Koru + whatever other trust you have (Selteus and Qultada will die from Holy). Mantra gives you a good life lead to survive his Holy ??? randomness, and as long as you immediately voke at start, it's a cakewalk.

Did 4 runs and didn't die once, learned AAEV is not well suited for this fight, as the Additional Effect of Cait Sith's attacks will just rip through her, but MNKs high counter rate can mostly negate a good amount of damage. Yoran, Arciela and Koru took no damage from every holy, which could have been dumb luck. Just FYI in case anyone was still trying to farm this fight, since the HTBF craze and lines died down a bit. Crown dropped on 4th fight.

Are you saying the fight only lasts the extent of Mantra because if not it sounds like Holy can be survived with those trusts without it? Or did you get lucky and he never used Holy after Mantra wore?

Mantra lasts 3 minutes and the fight is over by then, at least it was for me. I probably didn't need to use it, but I feared my trusts would get unlucky occasionally. The Holy ??? move is calculated based on the random number he/she rolls, so it can hit for pretty hard at times. Just throwing out every buff I used for context, but it was probably meaningless overall.

I also forgot to mention that Arciela will use Addle and Koru will continue to spam Dia, which will force Cait into Divine Favor, so that helps you out a little bit. Though I have noticed Divine Favor does not stop Cait from using a TP move right away, it just temporarily distracts him/her.

My chat log says Lv ? Holy, but it helped me a lot in trying to find something

I've been fooling around solo on BLU/MNK for this and managed to get N down consistently around a 4.5m clear. Capped counter rate, 5/5 Malignance and appropriate MDEF buffs/traits.

Trying D and so far got her down to 60% after benediction. Something goes wrong each time with the trusts, I think I need a better trust combo. The capped counter rate is pretty sweet, she attacks so fast so you do a lot of counter damage.


Apururu, Arciela, King, Koru-Moru, Bygrid. Maybe the chemist npc or ygnas.

Anyone try soloing this on BLU?
