Josiah, no offense buddy, but what kind of rock have you been living under lately to not see what's been going on here between those two? Nausi blocked Vic a while back and Vic knew it. Vic still won't shut up about Nausi and has name-dropped him in a huge chunk of his posts for a long time now.

But after all that, you decide to rail on Nausi for one post, completely ignoring Vic's long-standing childish behavior in the process? Come on, man.

I think you're right. I had hoped Vic had blocked someone in the past and acted the same, to warrent Nausi's behavior instead of it being typical escalation.

There is a big difference between two people fighting and only one of them blocking the other.

In that situation the person being blocked has no obligation to change their behavior in public like this however the person doing the blocking has removed the ability for the other to provide rebuttal. That act is what levels up the pettiness IF the person continues to directly address the person they blocked.

And if someone is going to resort to escalation when multiple people are on equal footing regarding their free use pettiness, of course some random nerd like me is going to notice the escalation etc

Isn't that exactly what you're doing, though? You don't know the history, but you're condemning one side's behavior with almost no understanding of context. Worse, you're acting like you've suddenly got it all figured out based only on a tiny sliver of information.

Vic escalates EVERYTHING.

He does so just to be petty. He doesn’t read sources he specifically requests and he just responds to service himself and his own narrative which has nothing to do with reality, in fact it is often ANTI-reality. His responses are petty. He serves no purpose on this board but to be petty.

The only way to deal with that kind of irrationality is to either ridicule them into self censorship or simply deny them the platform and to even be heard.

I asked a question and that was the answer I was provided. If the truth had been different and Vic had done something far far more petty than what stated, don't you reasonably think Nausi would have mentioned it when asked?

I've been around here long enough to know the history; The same pettiness exists on both sides of most arguments here, largely why I don't engage as much.

The problem is the mindset of the general public, not just one side of it. So it's getting harder and harder to find any individuals who want to have genuine dialogue about the problems we face but instead want to have pettiness entertain and reinforce their beliefs.

I'm definitely tired of random countries' citizens constantly mocking the usa's healthcare blindly while their own land maintains near no military power though, while the USA are actually spending billions to (in theory anyway, publicly) deter global conflicts for all.

Anytime I hear someone proclaim "Capitalism is a terrible system that incentivizes greed and tends to always turn into the most corrupt oligarchies" it just makes me cringe But communision is equally terrible and flawed for the same reasons. There is no answer or magical system that will work perfectly because it's based on human beings and our defaults are always to do things to excess until it's not sustainable any longer, in everything from eating to population to agriculture to global corporate consolidation.
