And let's look at the logical thought process here. If (and it's a big "if") Trump obstructed justice, whose investigation would be obstructed? Mueller's.

Okay, so Mueller declined to prosecute the obstruction. Well, then whose responsibility is it to prosecute obstruction against Mueller's investigation? Now, I'm not a lawyer, but I think it's safe to say that if the ball is able to be picked up by somebody else, they'd have a heck of a time trying to convince a judge that there's a good reason to attempt to indict a sitting president (which, btw, can't be done anyway) on charges that the offended party declined to pursue when they had every opportunity to do so.

If your neighbor suspects that their uncle else broke into their house but didn't have enough evidence to prove it and thereby declines to press charges, you can't take over the "open investigation" and press charges yourself just because you really don't like your neighbor's uncle.

Did you honestly think a highly known liberal would face charges in Chicago?

Tell me no please...

Hmm, he had to forfeit his $100k bond, which might not be a lot to him (assuming his career isn't over), but it's still a little odd.

I would hate to think it was something so petty as countering Mueller with an exoneration of their own, but then again, it's Chicago....

More evidence of a two tier justice system. One set of rules for powerful liberals, another set of rules for everybody else.

How could it get any more obvious?

It's for "the cause", in which the pursuit of makes anything acceptable.

Wrong DA dummy. Foxx did not recuse herself, she was the one who dropped the charges.

Must be swiming in another one of your conspiracies.

Vic ain't dumb. Blind to see reason and in denial, that perhaps is a better argument. I think the person of questionable intelligence no longer posts here, however I dare not say thy name for fear of invoking their return.

Well, it sounds like the Chicago PD is pretty ticked off with the case being dropped. It remains to be seen if the Party of Backfire is going to call the acquittal a victory or not.

DA's are political offices and that's a hyper liberal city in a liberal state. And successful prosecution would be career death for the prosecutor.
