Democrats yesterday: without slaves who will pick our cotton?
Democrats today: wihout illegals who will pick our fruit?
Two points:
1. The Dixiecrats became Republicans in the 60’s
2. The majority of our fruit is picked in foreign countries and shipped here. Never heard of NAFTA?
1) completely untrue, only one Dixiecrat moved over, his name was strom thurman.

2) plenty of fruit is picked here
Democrats are forever the party of racists.
Lol D’Souza. What’s next Nausi? Ben Shapiro videos?!! Lmao!
Not an argument
Ok I’ll bite.
D’souza is attempting to frame the point that the Dixiecrats only had one politician and was a minuscule movement, because Strom Thurmond was the only “self identified” Dixiecrat politician that ran for president.
This is disingenuous at best. D’Souza ignores the splintered Democratic Party of Northern and Southern Democrats for the sake of framing his point. He conveniently ignores that Southern Democrats are Dixiecrats and chooses to focus solely on the brief moment they made a party platform with the same name.
Southern Democrats started breaking from the party in 1948. Do you know what began in 1948? No? Desegregation.
The splintering furthered in 1964 when the Civil Rights Act was signed by Lyndon Johnson a Texan Democrat.
Then comes the election of 1964 where these Southern Democrats (Dixiecrats) shifted party lines and voted for Barry Goldwater in the Presidental election.
Goldwater espoused a low-tax, small government philosophy, and opposed the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Goldwater won his home state and swept the states of the Deep South, most of which had not voted for a Republican presidential candidate since the end of Reconstruction in 1877. Which is the moment the cultural shift in the Republican Party began where “racist Democrats” moved to Republican Party. I’m sure you’ve heard of the Southern Strategy... maybe you haven’t. Just know the conversion of the party culminated in 1980 with Ronald Reagan.
Also you know identified as a Democrat but became a Republican in 1964?
Strom Thurmond.
Which is why: LoL D’Souza.
