The logic escapes me from the left.
Different people have different opinions, some will like, some will dislike and some will have contradicting opinions, everyone "from the left" don't agree on all subjects, far from it.
Now, higher wages for citizens looks really good on paper, but you aren't actually saving money because products price will increase accordingly, then people will just end up being their products from elsewhere, like mexico.
This is happening here where fruits / vegetables made in Canada are way too expensive when compared to products from California / Mexico. Farmers complain people don't support them enough, but you know I'm not going to pay 10$ for strawberries when I can have more for half the price.
The cost of living is also much higher in urban areas where 15$ minimal wage makes more sense.
Is there actually enough people to replace all the illegal workers on farms?
There's no perfect solution, there needs to be some kind of balance.
