The fines are set by number of infractions not the size of the infraction. It's a civil fine similar to what the SEC and other such organizations do.

So I was talking to my cousin today who is a lib. He sends me a text to turn on cnn. They had commentary on there about 2020 and dems were worried. Not about repubs but about this far left fringe bent on raising hell in the party.

The blonde woman, I can't recall her name and the woman with short hair were saying they are losing moderate dems everyday. They are gaining the some young new voters but said that although they gain their support they are not a reliable voting block and that moderate dems are very disgusted with current dems. That is why they say Nancy is doing damage control on trying to stop the Trump impeachment *** but people like Al Green (? guess hes a congressman?) and a bunch of the "radical new representatives, keep pushing the issue despite her telling them to drop it. They said there is a big tear in the dem party that she cannot control with the likes of that anti-Semitic woman, AOC and others.

Was a good watch for a cnn episode they did not talk about repubs barely but did highlight some rifts.

So just got back and as expected, Captain Marvel is fine, no where near "the worst Marvel movie." Go see it, go enjoy it.

Couple of plot holes and as I said before, the timing is off. This movie should not have come out a month before Endgame, a movie that everyone is ready and waiting for. Could have easily come out at anytime before Infinity War Part 1 with no changes and have the same impact on the storyline.

Even CNN has to realize eventually that both sides have now been galvanized to the extreme. The war for the middle isn't going to be won with a party that is divided against itself, and bashing Trump 24/7 isn't going to fix that.

It's still early, but one of the latest primary polls has Biden and Sanders in the lead with 28% and 25%, respectively, with Harris trailing next at 10%.

Think about that for a minute. Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders. The hippest, coolest, most woke party in history is split between an old, white male and an even older, white male, and can't choose either without alienating a broad swath of voters.

She was supposed to be "meh," the Kree spent 6 years beating her into NO EMOTIONS, ACT LIKE A VULCAN AT ALL TIMES!! I expect her to be a lot more outgoing now that she broke away from them. They got the Kree right, bunch of self righteous ***.

What MCU movies is it better than and why?

Its easily better than Thor 2, which had to be heavily edited and underwent reshoots to add more Loki, but still had a trash plot and throwaway elf-lord as a villain. Nobody even remembers that movie.

Also better than Ultron, which was trash. Phase 2 in general only gave us one great movie, Winter Soldier. Captain Marvel stands above that entire phase excluding Cap 2 and Guardians 1 (which really has nothing to do with the phases). Dr Strange was mediocre and Antman wasn't much better, dragged down by the lackluster villains. Marvel was legitimately struggling with villains during Phase 2, the only one that had any development was Loki, a Phase 1 villain. Winter Soldier even had Robert Redford playing himself.

It wasn't until Phase 3 that we started getting complete movies with a fleshed out villain, Black Panther, Spiderman, Infinity War, Guardians 2 (I GUESS), and now Captain Marvel. *Deleted some spoilery stuff about Captain Marvel's villain* I would rate Cap Marvel below the Phase 3 standouts I just listed. I didn't really care for Civil War, but it works as a movie. I would have deleted Age of Ultron and replaced it with Civil War, then given us a legit Cap 3, but when asked what the plot would be I couldn't tell you. And what Thor/Hulk would have been doing during Civil War, I also couldn't tell you.

But my greater point has always been Cap Marvel doesn't belong in Phase 3, its being debuted out of order. I watched Cap 1 to prepare myself for a slower movie because Cap Marvel is in essence, a Phase 1 movie. I don't care for the way Marvel handled her rollout, I think they did Spiderman perfectly, not so much here. It has nothing to do with the acting (which was completely fine), the writing (which was..questionable) or the directing (kthxbai guys).

Now, if she comes in and shows well in Endgame, which I expect she will do, it will be fine. She isn't a win button, so that's good. She isn't as strong as Thor but stands above the rest of them atm. I didn't think she would be, Marvel hasn't spent 20 movies building up the Avengers just to be usurped by one character. Of course, that's also why Thor didn't show up until the very end of Infinity War to wreck shop.

Not according to Kevin Feige, who seems to want Capt. Marvel in the top spot for whatever reason. Unless you count the OP Celestials, Thor has been among the top strongest characters in Marvel comics for decades. Adding that to the fact that he is one of the most well-liked characters and had some incredible performances in Thor 3 and Infinity War, it would be a huge letdown to see him stuck on the back burner behind a character who is is now seen as rather "meh".

Thor is the strongest right now with his stormbreaker axe. He kills Thanos if he goes for the head. Not gonna spoil Cap Marvel but she isn't on that level, I actually think Thanos is barely going to notice her (which is good). Thor is still the biggest threat to Thanos.

She is above the currently living Avengers team, excluding Thor. She is the strongest human on Earth, and that's fine. Its too spoilery to talk about the source of her powers (which I'm still kinda head-scratching) but if they want her to be the top spot, they achieved it. They definitely uh, bent some canon to get there but its ok.

In theory, nobody should be stronger than Hulk as he has no upper limit on his strength. But anyway, I have no problem with her being among the strongest of the Earth group (although her vs. Scarlet Witch would be interesting). I do have a problem with her taking too much screen time from more likable characters.

This is far from just being an issue with Captain Marvel. Many creators have fallen into the trap of trying to force the audience to love a character when the chemistry just isn't there. It really isn't a huge deal when it's just a one-off situation (i.e. her own movie), but I hope they'll realize sooner than later that fetch isn't going to happen when it comes to crossover movies.

They established fairly early that that wasn't how MCU Hulk was gonna function.


I think they were very aware of that concern when they made this movie, and they knew what they were doing with the end credit scenes. Too spoilery to talk about, but I think they addressed it. She isn't a win button. She is strong, no doubt. She is also likable and should fit in nicely with whats left of the team. They will probably have an easier time adjusting to her than say, Rocket, the talking racoon. It shouldn't be that hard when making that particular comparison lol.

Phase 2 wasn’t garbage. Thor 2 gave us another infinity stone, muh needed character development for loki, and avengers 2 gave further development of vision and the mind stone. All critical components of this massive 20+ movie saga.

Captain marvel gives us what? The origin story of how Fury got his eye patch?
