Vladimir Putin Concedes Defeat in Pennsylvania Special Election
Satire from The Borowitz Report in the New Yorker.

Quote:
Calling the result “close but no cigar,” Vladimir Putin has conceded defeat in Tuesday night’s special congressional election in Pennsylvania.

Speaking to reporters at the Kremlin, Putin thanked the many Russian campaign workers who tried but failed to propel the Republican candidate, Rick Saccone, into the winner’s circle.

“Our social-media trolls did some of their finest work to put Rick over the top, but, in the final analysis, we were a day late and a ruble short,” the Russian President said.

Putin had high praise for the Democratic candidate, Conor Lamb, who, he said, “managed to win in a district that I easily delivered to Donald Trump in 2016.” ...

....a Merwin Hulbert.

Proprietary round from the late 1870's to 1880's. A lot of Merwins were chambered in .44 WCF, now known as .44-40. .44 MH was probably less popular because no rifle chambered it. Was apparently a thing to buy a rifle and a revolver that fired the same rounds.

Honestly, we had the issue come up back when Jaerik was around and the TL;DR was that the term "retard" didn't really carry the same weight as other slurs. If one of you got slapped for calling liberalism a mental illness, then IDK. There was probably more than one reason behind it.

What the *** are you talking about Donny ? You keep a journal of every single post ?

It looks like the choice of lawyers is due to Muller's sudden interest in the family business.

It's highly doubtful that she knows anything more about Mueller's investigation than anyone else, so I wouldn't read into it as anything more than ensuring extra protection.

Steve Mnuchin Has Somehow Spent $2,507.42 Per Day on Airfare Since Taking Office
Slate, known left leaning source but accurate and documented.

Quote:
...
Secretary of the Treasury Steve Mnuchin, who—per official documents newly obtained by the (partisan Democratic) watchdog group CREW—has spent a robust $995,443.81 on eight military jet trips since taking office last February. (CREW observes that Mnuchin has “apparently has never used commercial aircraft” during his tenure; he has previously defended his use of military jets by arguing that “there are times when I need secure communications to be in touch with the president and the National Security Council” during flights. LOL. The National Security Council. He’s the secretary of the treasury! LOL. “Sir, the North Korean missiles are inbound.” “My God—where’s Mnuchin?”) ...

Another potentially big story here.

Cambridge Analytica fraudulently obtained Facebook user data on its then used said data to run referendum/election adverts on Leave.EU and Donald Trump’s behalf. More pressingly though, Facebook has apparently been aware of this since 2015 but has only now just decided to act on it... makes one wonder why.
