Rex Tillerson just got fired, lol. He was never qualified but at least he attempted to tell the truth.
What qualifies you for this position exactly?

You need a lot of experience and in depth knowledge of how our gov't works and how foreign gov't's work, Sec. of State is the most difficult Cabinet position and 1 of only 2 that really matter. Rex Tillerson didn't have any qualifications for it, his ouster has been coming for a while now, surprised it took this long, and really surprised Trump pulled the trigger on the day of an election.
He qualifies for both of those actually... Tillerson ran a company that is a major global corporate player that has to work with foreign governments to be successful which requires a knowledge of how they operate as well as the way things work in the US and just him being a citizen as well... not only that but he runs a company with a large number of employees rivaling or exceeding that of the state department... if you’re saying that you have to be in government to be qualified to run things then I’ll have to disagree with you completely... I’m personally against lifelong government employees...

I'm sure that's what Trump thought too but as it turns out everyone knew by April 2017 that Tillerson was overwhelmed and underqualified. The State Dept is not a business at all, it has numerous responsibilities to keep Americans safe and Tillerson went in there and fired a bunch of people, killed morale, and we still have several key ambassador positions, including South Korea, empty. We knew last summer that he was done, hell Pompeo just said he knew in December he was taking over State.

I didn’t know that and I still don’t... Tillerson actually seemed like a stabilizing force in the administration... it seems like your basing a lot of your opinions off of rumor or speculation...

Now it also seems like you’re using the current trump pick to discredit the last one...

At some point you have to ask yourself do you dislike this guy because he’s unqualified or doing things incorrectly or is it because he got his job from trump... can you tell me what actions you disagree with that he’s taken since he’s been in office?

I don't mind repeating myself, he immediately went into the State Dept and fired a bunch of career employees for no apparent reason, causing morale to crater. Several important ambassador positions have remained empty under his leadership, with several others seeing resignations due to his (and Trump's) incompetence. The entire Qatar situation was bungled, although a lot of that can be blamed on Trump. There have been numerous occassions when the US was caught completely unaware upon a foreign announcement, including the Korean talks before and after the Olympics. Tillerson should never have even been interviewed for Sec. of State.

State lays off career diplomats

This was Feb '17, literally the first thing Tillerson did was fire a whole bunch of people for no reason, and a lot of those positions remain empty.

The difference between Trump's first choice of Secretary of State and Obama's was that Trump's choice didn't break federal laws. But yeah, let's glaze over that because everything Trump does is automatically the worst thing ever.

Even at their worst, the Republicans didn't obsess over every single Obama appointee. You don't even know if any of them were qualified because you never bothered to look. How about the one that people actually knew? Well, she did a horrible job and was rewarded with the party nomination anyway.

I'm just tired of this faux outrage where people only care because they're so obsessed with Trump. They just want to justify their hatred, so they pay attention to people they would otherwise never care about and judge their every move.

Like it will make a difference. Trump could hire the most qualified person in existence and we'd still have keyboard warriors in here who think they could do the job better.

To be fair it was very similar with obama... the first years were filled with claims obama was not even American and that he was Muslim among other things... pretty much everything he did was contended and the house and senate did everything they could to oppose him...

For trump he’s the maker of his own infamy as he never wants to stay out of the spotlight and continues to make inflammatory comments daily via Twitter...

Again, where's your source stating the Russian part of the investigation is over?
Just google and read the plethora of reports from the CIA / NSA / FBI. The CIA specifically is finished, their results are Russia attempted but was unsuccessful and no no significant impact on the results....
Half correct. They stated AT THE TIME that they did not analyze the impact on the election. But the Trump team added that particular bit of spin immediately on the CIA's release of findings.

Now guys lets watch the Canadian citizen demand to be handed the CIA's full investigation report on a foreign powers interference in the 2016 US Presidential election.
All I'm asking is your source stating the Russian part of Mueller's investigation is over, it shouldn't be hard, still waiting.
Do not hold your breath.

I agree with you here... he could put obama in to replace Tillerson and some would find a way to criticize it...

Trump’s Nominee to Lead CIA Supervised Torture of Mistakenly Identified Subject, Then Destroyed Evidence
Slate

Quote:
...
The [toture] sessions were recorded on video. Here’s what happened to the recordings:

When questions began to swirl about the Bush administration’s use of the “black sites,” and program of “enhanced interrogation,” [Haspel] began pushing to have the tapes destroyed. She accomplished her mission years later when she rose to a senior position at CIA headquarters and drafted an order to destroy the evidence, which was still locked in a CIA safe at the American embassy in Thailand. Her boss, the head of the agency’s counterterrorism center, signed the order to feed the 92 tapes into a giant shredder....

I look at the Trump presidency like I looked at Duck Dynasty. The Robertson's dicked around too much to actually run a company. It was just for show.

The scary part is that Trump isn't scripted. That's also the funny part.

It's like we're living in a parody.

The first years of Obama's administration were the only ones with idiot Retardlicans questioning his birth? Really? Where were you the whole eight years?
It died down after the first years, only a few people who have lived in a shack in the middle of the woods for 50 years actually believed he was Kenyan near the end.

Well, them and Madonna who seemed to like the idea of a Kenyan, Muslim president.

It's the exact same with the "Russian Collusion". The moderate Dems are starting to back off that horse and within another two years it'll die down to nothing. At least the Republicans didn't open an "investigation" on President Obama's birth, just threw around a whole lot of ***.

Hate is a powerful motivator, significantly more powerful then silly things like rational thinking. By spreading as much hate as possible the Democrats hope to motivate people to vote for them.

It's not an American tactic, it's something European Autocrats have been using for centuries.

I gotta say, this is really weird. You used to be the last person I ever wanted to talk to, but now it's like you're the only reasonable person in the room.

With that out of the way, it's not unreasonable to expect people to attack the president. It's not unusual for some on the "other side" to oppose literally everything he does. It's not unusual for the crazies on the fringe (hi CJ) to believe conspiracy theories about him. But what's happening with Trump is much, much more mainstream than what happened to Obama. This stuff isn't just coming from the weirdos. It's everywhere.

Maybe I'm just a cynical *** but, I really don't see how most of what they could do could actually be successful. Like, internet ads and stuff? I kinda look at most ads and think they are rediculous.

It looks the same from the other side. The right looks nuts for putting up with what they put up with.
