North Korea has promised not to use nuclear weapons against South Korea, and the two will hold their first summit meeting in over a decade. North Korea is open to discussing denuclearization with the U.S.. I'm sure we can thank the Olympics for helping to create a dialogue.

Thank... the Olympics? After all the work that has gone into getting NK to back down, we're giving the most credit to a conveniently timed sporting event?

No, thank the people who kept the pressure on long enough for Kim to realize that he's going to run out of money and resources very soon if he continues on his current path. Several world leaders played a role in this, including our current president.

I said "thank the Olympics for helping." If you believe that means I said the Olympics are the sole cause of any progress that's your prerogative.

If you'd also like to pretend the Olympics (you know, that just took place in South Korea, where they cooperated, coordinated and marched with each other) had nothing to do with leading to a detente and dialogue between the two you're being deliberately obtuse simply because you want to stir the pot and make it about Trump. But even he didn't take credit for this one and said that it may just be false hope

I for one can't wait to go hard in either direction, sounds hot.

Feel free to read any of those articles I posted that all discuss the impact the PyeongChang Olympics have had in opening discussion and cooperation between the two countries before you get your panties in a bunch, Rav! yeesh.

The Olympics absolutely put the idea of reunification into their minds, the North Koreans ate up that attention. Reunification hasn't even been a part of our strategy. And considering China has calmly been assisting NK get around our sanctions, there is no reason to believe any of our "pressure" got to them. And given NK's history, there is also no reason to believe any of this peace talk is serious.

Coupled with this tidbit:

Quote:
President Trump incorrectly described a phone call he had with South Korean President Moon Jae-in as being with someone from North Korea, a National Security Council official said Monday.

While discussing North Korea on Saturday, Trump said "they, by the way, called up a couple of days ago. 'We would like to talk.' And I said, 'So would we, but you have to de-nuke, you have to de-nuke.'" In reality, the call on March 1 was with Moon, the official told South Korea's Yonhap News Agency. "President Trump did not have a call with the North Koreans," the official confirmed. The leaders did talk about North Korea, and Moon told Trump about the envoy he was sending to Pyongyang to meet with Kim Jong Un.

“-In, -Un, Moon it’s all the same right?

I said to him; ‘Goddamn it Emperor Ching Chang Chong! I want a better deal for these hard-working American steel miners! If I don't get three more golf courses, a hat factory, an order of General's Chicken number 1 spicy Denuclearization to-go then I walk!”

That’s how it really happened, a lot of people don’t know this, but I tell you it did, believe me folks believe me...

Given the pathetic denial issued by the WH, that's pretty much exactly whats going to happen. They can't even admit she committed a crime.

Design for Presidential Seal Tee Markers Causes a Fuss
They're apparently destined for Trump-owned courses, which could be illegal

Quote:
(Newser) – A minor controversy is brewing over the presidential seal and an apparent attempt to use it to adorn golf courses owned by President Trump. The problem with that idea? It might be illegal. As ProPublica explains, the Trump Organization recently ordered the manufacture of tee markers emblazoned with the seal for use at Trump golf courses—these would be the markers used to show golfers where to tee off. This became known when a metalworking and sign company known as Eagle Sign and Design posted a since-deleted photo to Facebook of the design destined for "Trump International Golf Course." (There's four such courses, and the caption didn't specify which one.) The order form seen by ProPublica and WNYC identifies the customer as Trump International.

The issue is that the seal cannot be used for commercial purposes. In fact, it's a criminal offense that carries a possible punishment of six months in prison. The “law is an expression of the idea that the government and government authority should not be used for private purpose,” a law professor at Washington University tells ProPublica. It's not clear whether the revelation will put an end to the tee-marker plans. Nobody from the White House, the Trump Organization, or the Justice Department is commenting. The owner of Eagle Sign and Design confirms his company made the design but not his client's identity. "Apparently when you do something that is related to Trump it means you'll get a lot of questions," he tells the Louisville Courier-Journal. "We just did what our customer wanted."

What's healthier, having people work for you that share different opinions, or having people work for you that kiss your feet and agree with everything you say?

It seems like Trump has the former. That's good business practice. Lincoln did the same thing.

Disclaimer: Not saying Trump is as good as Lincoln. Lincoln is way beyond anyone that our idiot populace would elect nowadays.

Uh, pretty sure Trump has plenty of people that kiss his feet in the WH on a daily basis. The people that disagree with him have either bolted or are on their way out.
