I mean really, no ideology is bad so long as you ignore all the times that people committed genocide in the name of said ideology. What's the point of studying history anyway? It just messes with my feel-goods.

I was referring to the genocide of adults and children, but sure, whatever, raise the body count if you're so inclined.

Yeah, your perception of what being PC ought to mean is severely undercut by what PC culture is actually doing.

It's funny seeing them spaz out, especially a Canada considering Canada put "feelz" ahead of free speech. Its a violation of human rights laws to address someone without using their preferred pronoun and gender. Professor Jordan Peterson event went in front of their commission to speak about the non-sense of such a suggestion and hearing them basically say that Political Correctness trumps everything was eye opening.

And yes the left is using PC culture to stifle free speech and clamp down on dissenting voices. You either agree with them 100%, or you shut the *** up and don't dare open your mouth. Regular voters see this, especially when President Trump talks and the leftists explode. The ***he says are things that majority of America thinks, but doesn't talk about. Seeing the left go nuclear cause's people to think to themselves "if they said that to the President, what would they do to me". Would my neighbor report me to the "Right Think" police and have me fired from my workplace, socially ostracized and even physically hurt over having a different opinion?

We already know Zero, Shiroi, Chanti and others here already believe these things. Just look at who they support and who they haven't spoken against.

So yeah President Trump's just gotta lean back and let the Democrats defeat themselves on the bonfire of Progressive Hysteria they created. They stoked massive hate against anything not-Progressive and it's now out of control.

So, ignoring Saevel's fantasies, Trump doubled down on his trade war rhetoric today, expect the market to continue to tumble, and if he goes through with his tariffs that no one supports, jobs will be lost and the economy will suffer.

Surprised this is even a thing. Nobody ever wins a trade war, unless it's third parties with vested interests in destabilizing the economies of the first and second parties.

The reason that the US has a trade imbalance in the automotive industry in the EU is down to a lack of demand from the latter. Put simply, US cars don't stack-up against models made in Germany, the UK (for the time being) as well as the imports the EU gets from south-east Asia. Tariffs are redundant when it's ultimately market and consumer forces at play, make better products and the market will respond in favor.

Since it's likely that Trump is going to get to this one soon enough, it's worth noting that a decent chunk of US foodstuffs, ranging from raw produce to food dyes are outright banned in the EU due to health concerns. The US can't really declare that the EU is unfairly putting up tariffs on their foodstuffs when they're banned to begin with on medical grounds.

Oh, and this isn't even mentioning that increasing tariffs and putting up barriers to EU imports to the US is counter-productive because doing so will only increase the prices of said goods domestically, or will result in less imports in general which will in turn increase the price of that import due to lower supply.

I'm struggling to comprehend why the administration seems so keen on starting a trade war, especially when it looks as though the opposition holds a decent hand of playing cards.

Sure you can find examples when things are pushed too far but what ate you complaining about right now, people talking about sexual assaults? Or the president bad press for being a bully, bragging about sexual assaults or cheating on his wife? Come on.

You might want to put your train of thought back on the rails, because I have no clue how you're drawing any of these conclusions. We were talking PC culture in general, don't try to redirect.

It's a helluva lot more then that. Virtually every other country in the world use's non-tariff trade barriers to protect their local economies. The use various combinations of domestic taxes, regulations and licensing restrictions to advantage their domestic producers.

The US has been in a "trade war" since the 70's. President Trump is just saying what the majority are already thinking, but too afraid to say. Other nations of the world have been taking advantage of the USA for decades, it's the exact same situation when it comes to defense spending. Candidate Trump told everyone he would do this, it should come as no surprise to anyone who actually paid attention.

As for the whole "nobody wins in a trad war", that's ***. Those have been used for millennia by various nations to effect change on other nations and protect their own economies. The loser is the one who can't absorb the impact, capitulates and stops whatever practice they were doing that harmed the other.

Trump Says U.S. May Give Having a President for Life 'A Shot Someday'
Time

Quote:
President Donald Trump says he thinks it’s great that China’s president now holds that office for life and muses that maybe the U.S. will do the same someday.

Trump’s remarks were met with laughter and applause during a luncheon for Republican donors Saturday at his South Florida estate. CNN said it obtained a recording of the remarks.

Chinese President Xi Jinping recently consolidated power. Trump told the gathering: “He’s now president for life. President for life. And he’s great.” Trump added, “I think it’s great. Maybe we’ll give that a shot someday.”...

Russian steel and aluminum industries will benefit from this stupidity. Especially since we’re laying off on enforcing sanctions. OPEC will also benefit.

First it’s “Confiscate the guns first, then we’ll figure out the due process”, then starting a trade war that will negatively impact the economy, now it’s “autocratic rule seems cool for America and Xi is totes adorable“... if I was believer of fringe right wing conspiracies I’d be under the impression Obama or Hillary are playing the part of Scooby-Doo villains wearing Donald Trump masks.

So just say whats offending you about the PC culture.

I don't have time to write the 300-page treatise required to capture every problematic nuance.

But if I had to sum it up in three themes right off the top of my head?

1. Blatantly hypocritical.
2. Completely lacking in self-awareness.
3. Disconnected from reality.

And you are the perfect example of the insecure conservative by generalising people into extreme categories to fit your silly narratives.

Except I'm not a conservative lol.
