I dabble in religious cults a bit. And one of my favorite ones is the Heaven's Gate. They thought the world was going to be recycled. And they wanted to board a spaceship on the comet Halle Bopp. Sounds legit to me.

Because I know you actually care more than you pretend, if you're interested in a bit of Viking history I recommend this book. Certainly not all-encompassing, but it's a very good overview of key points. And has some great Viking insults to boot.
I am fond of drawing on the classics when insulting.
