it doesnt stay 1 point per, it upgrades point costs like merits(up to 5 points per), 300 points let me cap out 2 categories to 50.

Specifically, for all categories the cost is:

Level 1-10: 1 "trust merit" point
Level 11-20: 2 points
Level 21-30: 3 points
Level 31-40: 4 points
Level 41-50: 5 points

150 points needed to take a category from zero to 50/50.

so 12~ months
200 from the Capacity RoE, 80 from monthlies, 100 from Vanabout from what they said on the livestream.

You'll get another 80 next month and currently, 1 point = 1 upgrade. HP/MP/STR/VIT/DEX/AGI/MND/INT/CHR, 9 categories times 50 upgrades each (8, since...CHR) is 450 so you'll be capped either way next month if you get the points from Vanabout.

it doesnt stay 1 point per, it upgrades point costs like merits(up to 5 points per), 300 points let me cap out 2 categories to 50.
Yeah, I heard from a friend who did the stat increases. In the livestream, they specifically stated "1 point is 1 upgrade" and showed screenshots of some stats upgraded with the next saying 1 point.

They really went out of their way to hide that it was an increasing cost. I'm sad.

So if it's 150 per category, at 80 points a month (assuming you do none of the bonus stuff), that'll be 1350 points to cap what we have, taking 17 months (without CHR, 1200, taking 15 months). We're getting 380 this month [970 or 820] left, that's 12 months and some change, so 13 months with CHR, 11 without.

Again, assuming you do NONE of the Vana'bout etc bonus rewards. 13 months to cap all of what we have, -2 months for every category you ignore, roughly.

I'm talking about all of the materials/talk on the subject. Not the in-game system.

Regardless of how explicitly it was stated in the Japanese livestream, this is completely unsurprising. Increasing costs is the same thing they did with merit points and job points, and these upgrades are structured the same way. Knowing this game, the safe assumption for anyone before verifying probably should have been that costs wouldn't be the same for level 1 as they are for level 15. Count your blessings that they didn't charge 1 point per level like job points (e.g., 32 trust points needed to upgrade from level 31 to 32).

Being able to max out 3 out of 9 "trust merit" categories in the very first month (assuming you do the monthly RoEs and Vanabout) is actually more generous than I would have expected for current FFXI. Even if you only do the monthly RoEs, that's another full category maxed out every 2 additional months for fairly minimal effort. And this feels like something where they'll also drop rewards into stuff like the seasonal events. I'm pretty pleased that my trusts already have capped HP and VIT merits, not that stressed that it will take a little time to max out their other attributes.

Are HP and MP increased by 10 per level each, and Attributes by 1 per level, similar to Merits?

HP is 5 per level, MP is 2 per level, stats are 1 per level.

I don't see how 100 extra MP is ever going to make or break a trust. perma 0/50. 250 extra HP... ya probably not gonna help much either. 30/50 with starting items.

Does CHR actually help with anything aside from dancer cures? 0/50

None of it does anything. (Maybe agi will push down tp feed a tiny tiny amount, we don't know trust stats, so)

CHR is brd macc so, elegy for Joachim. DE mods for like 2 trusts, too

Adds Macc for BRD songs and BST charm, and Meva against those. Trusts can't charm or be charmed. Ulmia doesn't use any enemy targeted songs and Joachim just has Elegy, so very limited use for trusts.

Also a stat mod for some WS, such as Dancing Edge, Shadowstitch, Primal Rend.

Basically, impact on trusts is that:
1. Uka and Lilisette should get a little more waltz potency (the other DNCs, Mayakov and Mumor, don't use Waltzes).
2. All trusts will get a little bit of Meva against enemy BRD songs (Elegy, etc.).
3. Very rarely, might help a WS with a CHR mod

Feels like the last priority to upgrade!

Maybe charm resist for at least some versions of it (not that that's relevant for a trust), and there might be some monster TP moves with a dCHR check. Player calculations don't necessarily correlate at all to monster calculations, but there are blue magic spells that use dCHR.

HP feels like the most useful. Not only just for pure survival, but max HP is a factor in enmity loss so the tanks can hold hate slightly better. HP alone doesn't seem likely to make too much difference, but hey, something's better than nothing and might help add up once we get the additional trust equipment.

Maybe if Koru Moru wasn't programmed to convert at literally 5 MP and then subsequently die to the next ill-timed AOE move, that 100 MP might have been the difference between his logic making him Convert much sooner than he now does (It does slightly prolong this behavior). But its a logic issue, not a stat issue.

Any trust that is currently inefficient with MP (all of them except Sylvie because she literally can't be) will still be inefficient with MP+100. Also logic issues. They get ~2 more cures, though!

just got a trust Primer From Moonlit path VD. gave me 20 trust points,

Interesting. Well, they did say they wanted players to be able to power up trusts while doing regular activities. I wonder if they added primers anywhere besides htbf.

I do agree that is probably the most useful stat of the lot. Just sad it isn't double that.

Koru gets two additional distracts, because qultadas acc is too low.

Or two additional flurries, again, Qultada. No cures lol

You get the trust points from the monthly, not from the HTBF itself

Honestly, I don't mind them giving a reason to make the monthly RoEs more interesting again. I had actually kept up and did 100% of the 4 monthly RoEs until one time just last year when I finally missed one (went on vacation and didn't get my gardening finished before I had to leave), and losing my streak made me lose a lot of interest. Combine that with Mars Orbs becoming worse and my desire to do monthly deeds was kind of fading. But hey, now there's a good reason to make sure I hit all 4 each month again. Easy and quick, and even if the reward isn't lighting my world on fire, more trust stats is better than nothing.

I also think the limited Kirin/Fafnir event is pretty good stuff. The reforged RSE gear isn't changing the game for anyone who already has solid endgame gear, it's basically a slightly worse version of base Nyame gear. But that's REALLY GOOD for truly casual players as a stepping stone to better endgame gear. Nice spread of stats, solid Meva/DT - it's going to be a huge boon to tons of more casual/solo players who aren't posting here and often get ignored by this crowd.

I know a lot of people playing XI now and nowhere close to understanding endgame. Lots of XIV people checking it out, some who played long ago and are returning to see what XI is like now, etc. I'm suggesting to all of them to try to hit these Fafnir/Kirin fights and make the RSE armor. And while it's trivial for most of us, even the 100k/piece price from curio moogles is a lot for a lot of these players - so I'm also pointing them to the old school RSE armor quests with the patterns from Shakrami, etc. (https://www.bg-wiki.com/ffxi/The_Goblin_Tailor)

+1 to Cap, and also the new RSE gets folks into Synergy with something other than a cosmetic piece. I got asked to make one for someone, saw the recipe and was like - do it yourself! :P

Is there any sense that the new RSE +1 gear might get augments at some point (unsure if this was alluded to in the stream, didn't watch).
