IDK...It looks like you're saying the player counts are skewed because of this thing...that 1% of players are doing.

IMO, it's less than 1%. I'm sure there are some people who are logging in 16 mules every day, and doing AMAN trove on 16 mules, and doing Ambu on 16 mules every month...but it's not even remotely close to the normal experience.

Since it's such an outlier situation, it feels really strange, to me, to point to it as a reason why the player count would be high. It's like a rounding error in the grand scheme of things.

If they were using the database on this site to *** player counts, that information requires AH transactions to count players. I highly doubt people are dumping stuff on the AH from all 15 mules.

Kinda depends on your server, on cerb there's 2.8k(ish) active characters, if 10 people with 15 alts reactivates them all then it jumps to 3k and that's a noticeable difference, and 10 people doing it is not a difficult thing to happen.

SE's done an amazing job managing FFXI this year, in my opinion. Compared to prior years, they've addressed bugs quickly and offered compensation. They've introduced several new pieces of content. They're working on the back end to create forward maintainability. I am one of the first to criticize them most of the time, but they've done great and I think growing player numbers reflect that.

However, the elephant in the room: FFXI can be a coping mechanism and holidays are one of the most stressful times of the year for a lot of people. Going by sales numbers, a spike in activity happens this time every year.

SE has kind of ignored crafting gear ever since the introduced the shields. It would be nice to see more crafting gear. Maybe another piece or two of HQ+ gear.

Crafting gear has an immediate effect on world economy, I wouldn't expect any gear that can change the amount of craftables being made any time soon. Maybe some convenience stuff (some cooking items NEED to stack to 99 dammit)

They will do that as soon as they let gear/accessories that are need for crafting other stuff stack to 12, lol.
