Copper Vouchers should convert into Nyzul and Einherjar currency.

I don't think the Rema process is too hard for new players.

From what I see, most people's first Rema is an aeonic they get through LS runs. Most LSs do these semi regularly and welcome new comers and people without existing remas.

The game is at a point where a core group of 4-6 can carry an entire alliance through an Aeonic climb.

If they want another rema after that they have an aeonic they can use to farm stuff for it.

There are more useful aeonics than mythics and they are 20x easier to get. It's not balanced.

No one is farming 30k alexandrite and 1500 HMP unless they are botting it. That's the bigger issue IMO, they see what this costs and takes, it seems overwhelming and unreachable especially when you need multiples.

The other objectives/requirements could probably use balancing in some cases esp with mythics, but those are things that generally speaking can be worked towards with some reasonable effort and in a reasonable timeframe. If you have help, you can do most of them in a reasonable timeline - although I would agree redoing the assaults over and over is annoying and we all know how a lot of people are doing this. The ergon wait is also ridiculous, but thankfully it only applies to two weapons.

The HMP/Alex requirement and AG requirements are just too high to be practically obtainable via farming, which is the main issue I think needs resolved.

It's more a community issue imo, when the populace is low and mostly full of people who have done all the stuff, whether it be botted, merc'd, or legit they set the expectation of what is the "standard" i.e. what you need to do anything as a brd

REMAs are supposed to take a few months, they were meant to be project weapons. But the community has this idea of them being entry level requirements depending on who you ask, this is wrong but its what gets spread around and becoming the accepted norm. And this continues to gear such as ody gear.

I dont think theyll ever directly lower the currency requirements, ambu seems to be their compromise with that, putting some of the more annoying non-sellable currencies into vouchers would be the next step id see them go for.

If you feel the 30k alexandrite is too high, remember it was 50k, and SE reduced the amount shortly before (Sep 2008) a lot of people got banned for the dupe exploit (Jan 2009). Regardless if you want to believe it or not, there is still a valid argument that the 30k could have been lowered to 25k or 20k, but SE looked at the amount of Alex within the economy and felt 30k was the right amount. Except this amount of alex in the system included a solid chunk of dupe created alex. As minimal the cotton pouches generate, and as low the drop rate of the linen pouches, it still tripled the amount of alex generated from those sources.

I know you''re talking about new/returning players, but I did farm at least 27,000 of my alex, exclusively from Ambuscade (one character, not alts or mules doing ambu cycles), and then bought the remaining ~3k. Just kept buying it every month and had no plans to make anything, but after seeing I had well over 20k, decided to make and finish a Carn. Not sure how long I was saving for (probably a good 10-12 months). But that's not normal, and no returning player would invest that kind of time into a mythic weapon.

I do agree that Mythics are unusually cumbersome, especially in the era of the game where they've made everything easier to obtain. They haven't touched Mythics*

Anyways, the worst part of a Mythic isnt the alex, its doing Nyzul for 150k tokens.

Am I the only one that thinks the ichor is the biggest pain in the *** for a mythic?

You can buy the alex with gil obtained from a variety of other avenues.

You can farm the 150k tokens in a day or two if you really wanted to.

There is no getting around running to testing grounds once every earth hour. Over 50 times.

Its both ichor and nyzul tokens really. Ichors slightly worse, especially when you have to fight to get in at the same time(asura problems) but they both suck and should be voucherable by now

Tokens are 9-10 hours.

Ichor is less than 10 hours (it's split into like 52x 10min segments, which is annoying.. but it's not an immense amount of time).

Assault is 9-10 hours (less if you cheat).

If you went to farm your alex, blazing through a run in 20 min(keep in mind it takes a good bit of time to even run to the entrance because no warps) for a very optimistic 150 alex, you're at 66.6 hours. It also has to be split apart because of permits.

Pretty clear alex is the most tedious part. Doing assaults twice for first mythic is stupid, but I don't think they need to nerf assaults besides that. I also don't really think they need to nerf alex, given how much you can get from ambuscade. It's just meant to be a long goal.

Ein takes 10 minutes per run, including all travel. You can do a run before Sortie, then go back after Sortie. You can do it before work, do it when you get home. Do one before bed. Do one before you go work out, then another when you get home.

But most importantly: Einherjar doesnt have 5 order lamps.

I always wanted to see an option to run salvage for alex, or double the drops of an exclusive red alex.

15,000 red alex you can't sell. Make it faster, make it appealing to earn.

More things that're faster to earn, if you take the unsellable option. Instead of buying everything. (dyna money, alex, hmp, etc)

I didn't say farm the materials. Farming gil and buying the materials is infinitely easier than farming Salvage or Dyna or any other Rema material farming.

Source - my six mythics while never having stepped foot in Salvage II.

Ichor feels like one of the easiest/relaxed things for Mythics.
Yes you have the 1hr gating and the "T3 room busy" gating (which realistically is an issue only on Asura) but I still find it waaaaay better than, say, Nyzul.
Ichor you're done in 2 mins and can afk or do other things.
Tokens are a pain if you don't have a mule (the 1900 points wasted at start to enter) and you have to do that content for 30 full mins. No gating, technically, but way more annoying and boring, if you ask me.


So yeah, Tokens is the worst part imho.

I want another one but the thought of buying alex or even the 10k item sounds incredibly painful via the Ah

Nyzul is one of the few things in the game that encourages people to group up with strangers, if they fixed Assault so people can't cheat and solo it that would do the same.

I completed my last Mythic in a couple of months, and I wasn’t doing it hardcore every day. Granted, I had done two before, so knew what to do, but it’s not as bad as it seems. The only thing that held me back was a lack of stock for Alexandrite/Beitetsu, but being on a smaller server means there are more buyers than sellers. Ichor can take time, but it’s not egregious. I found it to be very chill. Tokens is easier if you bring 1 or 2 others to help, which encourages party play.

Ergon isn’t bad. I leveled jobs I never would have by switching to them for the easiest quests. It’s not difficult, you just have to be patient, which is what this game teaches you. I only wish some quests were more interesting. I wouldn’t mind if they slightly nerfed the wait time on tags. And yet, I’m afraid if we scale things back too far, FFXI begins to pander and nothing feels like an accomplishment anymore.

There are other things in the game that are straight up unfair, like Shinryu drop rates. If I had a choice, it would be the first thing to be fixed. After that, I would make getting Captain rank easier to open up the Mythic line to more players. However, I wouldn’t scale back on doing all the assaults to get a Mythic, partly because I found it the most enjoyable, but also because it would leave the content unused.

I said this years before Vana’Bout, but there is so much content going unused that could be revived. The devs have had us doing all kinds of things in Vana'Bout we haven't done in years, or never. Revive older content with decent rewards and they can bridge the gap, which I’d prefer over nerfing other grindy content that has only gotten easier with time. Compare making REMs now to when they were introduced. It is night and day. Even so, they are called “Ultimate Weapons” for a reason, and I believe they shouldn’t be handed out like sweets.


I soloed my Assaults without cheats for three Mythics. Here is my guide to doing so. There are only 1 or 2 difficult Assaults some players may need help with, but there is no way you need to cheat them.

It sounds like you're implying that people can only solo literally every Assault mission by cheating. Unless you think unlocking Corsair and using Bolter's Roll is cheating, that's simply not the case.

I'm not sure what you mean by "farm" specifically. I would agree that directly sourcing alex/hmp would be wildly ineffective.

Ambuscade is the easy button for all REMA. You can cut a significant cost directly and sell everything else each month to buy more of you want. There was even a period of about 24 months where I used every ambu currency for its specific Rema, making multiple at a time.

The problem is expectations, but not on the part of the elite. I've been 100% vanilla since launch, never bought Gil (srslywtfiswrongwyou)....and I own more rema then I care to count. But it's 2025 and expecting a Rema (or multiple) for a job is reasonable.

If you haven't done the work for the 1-4 needed you shouldn't expect to be in the elite groups. You can enjoy the content, but if you want elite runs you need to simply put in the time. Do ambu every month and you're done in 8 months.

If people aren't willing to do that they're in the wrong game.

Even if you cheat for your assault books, you still need to clear the assaults properly for captain rank to start a mythic.

I start buying from the AH way before I get to the alex part, and use bidder.

I was captain when it released. I was hardcore on that content, which was excellent.

There are bots for this. The only thing not successfully set up to be botted to my knowledge is Nyzul tokens.
