I dont know how revamped Besieged is doing as I didnt try this content, but considering Im not seeing it in any topic exclusive, i would guess it is unappealing?
Original Besieged was cool but perhaps a bit too ambitious for their infrastructure at the time.
The lag was so insane I've never seen anything like that in this game.
Closest probably is the first weeks (days?) of bugged Odyssey Sheol Gaol.
I digressed though.
Wether Besieged is good or not, it faces another big problem: availability.
Want an example?
The first besieged update was in the november 2024 patch. That's over 6 months ago.
I play basically almost every day and to date I still have
not been able to find a Besieged "happening" while I'm online.
Now clearly my example is an extreme case of bad luck and coincidences and I won't deny that.
At the same time though, everybody can understand the implications of putting so much development effort on a content that's really not that simple to take part in even if you want to.
Can they solve it? It's no easy task. After all if it was, they would've solved it already.
With a content thought like something that happens at random variable times to please both the lore and the different world audiences playing in different timezones on each server, can you solve this issue?
I don't know.
They should make it so it happens at regular times, and then make other "random" besieged events to happen in between every now and then, following the old variables.
Could that work? I dunno, maybe.
Practical example.
Week1: 8PM EST on Monday, 2PM Thursday, 8AM Sunday
Week2: 2AM EST on Wed, 8PM on Sat
Week3: 2PM EST on Tues, 8AM on Fri
Week4: 2AM EST on Monday, 8PM Thursday, 2AM Sunday
Week5: 8PM EST on Wed, 2PM on Sat
Week6: 8AM EST on Tues, 2AM on Fri
Week7: cycle starts again
This way there could be a rotation but also a predictable schedule. You could check with an in-game NPC the upcoming next one, and they could make a regular calendar on their website too.
In addition to these "scheduled" Besieged runs, you could have occasional other ones happening at random times following the old method.
