Maybe they can take card drops out of trove now. That'd be a QoL.

Now now, that's not a QOL. That's actually improving the content. Too ambitious.
That's like removing the logs from logwatch, fundamental part of the content that we can't just change willynilly.

Trove should have just been Trump cards, or blank cards for those who get upset at that word, whatever. That or the gob should have accepted 10 of any job card able to be mixed.
"six of one, ten of any" would be a lot less shittier than the current implementation. Still very shitty as it takes two runs without campaign to get 6 of the same job card, but less shitty.
By Dodik 2025-05-02 10:38:23
Keeping all cards so you can trade mixed cards means you have to use up 18 inventory slots for all those cards, minus the jobs you already have AF for.

Unless I'm misunderstanding the 18, it would be 22 slots.
By Dodik 2025-05-02 10:40:42
I was guessing a median of 4 jobs that already have some AF per player.

Very easy implementation was just make the ratio 1:3 during any Omen Card campaigns, matching seal conversion. This would have solved the issue of so many excess cards that you may or may not need, as you can turn them back in. 3 of any for 1 specific, just like base empyrean feet.
The need to prolong content artificially is kind of lame IMO, but now people will return to doing Omen for cards during non-campaigns, since it seems there might be an upgrade coming to JSE1+2 in the future, so mission accomplished (eventually).

How long until I can trade 10 NQ earrings of the same kind for 1 +1 earring of the same kind, and likewise from +1 to +2?
How long until I can trade any 5 earring of the same tier, for a chosen earring of the same tier?
How long until I can trade an earring and X stones for a new roll of the augments, being able to choose wether I want to keep the old one or overwrite it with the new one?

I mean, this tells me that SE doesn't understand what makes players happy, which is not something new - they are bad at satisfying their players, hence why they can't release any good games anymore
SE - the bad RPG company

They care:
Quote: Going forward, we plan to continue to refer to the Adventurers' Survey and respond to the comments and suggestions that were made to the development and operations teams. Although implementing certain features one at a time like this may seem like we're moving at a rather slow pace, we plan to keep conducting routine maintenance and making adjustments to the game so that you can continue to enjoy your adventures for a long time to come.
The funny thing is, the Adventurer's Survey is just an extension of everything players have stated on the forums and other platforms with their feedback otherwise. They didn't need an "official" survey to deliver what players really want, but they can conveniently use this as their reasoning for why things never get/got done (it wasn't in the survey!!). Won't hold my breath on that though.
By the way, autotarget still not fixed, even when they ask for feedback during AMAs and say they will address it, never happened

They needed it to attach to the document claiming that these updates are necessary and to justify the dev time cost of all this stuff.
Y'all didn't notice that FFXI was almost shut down when FF16 was about to be released, and it's only through a Fujito miracle that it's still up and getting updates. It took a lot of corporation-fu on their end to pull it off. One such thing is the survey so they can say "see? we did market research, this will make numbers go up and it's worth the cost!".

Hey hey hey you leave my logs out of this, I'd still be on stage 2 of my woodworking shield if it weren't for Voidwatch logs.

Okay but where's the *** imprimatur reduction?

Indeed, the survey is purely for management to greenlight anything being done to a 23 year old game.
90% of our no longer paying for a subscription ex-players say they would return if X happened. That is a potential gazillion gil's worth of revenue.
Yada yada me no speaky businessy.

So we went from 75 to 99 to 104, and now 109 for besieged. I guess level 12 will be 113, 13 will be 115, 14 will be 117, and then 15 will be 119?
Assuming they intend to cap out at 15 and 119.
I know they are buffing the npcs, but I do wonder how often the candy will be lost on smaller servers once it hits 15. Watched two serpent generals get obliterated by Lamia #3 casting death on them recently. Shame you can't use trusts there too.

I don't think they committed to it, unless I missed another post on it, they said they'd look into it. To me that read as though they had no idea if it was even reasonably feasible to adjust, but the tidbit they did give on how it works was kindof interesting.
Quote: A: To determine a target, the auto-target system evaluates factors such as whether an enemy is close to the front of other characters within range. As you’ve pointed out, we believe the fact that it targets enemies outside of auto-attack range is an issue.
The system was sufficient back in the day when the game couldn’t gracefully handle as many monsters as it currently can; however, it’s true that it’s become less suitable for the battle styles of current players. There’s a lot of aspects to this that we’re unsure if we can adjust, so we’ll try requesting an investigation first.
Still annoying. I would love to see the actual logic behind it, though, because it is really bizarre how inconsistent it is.

They'll probably go from 109 to 119. Why make extra work for themselves when they don't have to.

Out of respect for SE, I still buy their games. But if they disrespect a mainline Final Fantasy-title (FF11), I will be burning my SE games in the streets. (Also, SE ...please open source FF11 instead of shutting it down. Thx<3).

Problem is everyone that wanted to use their 1000s of cards for a job already did so, especially right after a campaign..
Changing it literally a week after a campaign ended and reducing it to, presumably, a lower than the campaign tier is some high level trolling.
For once, procrastination pays off in my favor!

A lot of AF1 is still used and the process was horrible honestly. Farming cards outside of campaigns is terrible and it seems most feel the same as there were tons of people farming cards. I just left it until campaigns come up but glad its getting adjusted. I always feel a little worried when they ease content without much to replace it, but hopefully they have plans.

Honestly, I've always assumed that it does it based on the highest or lowest index or id in your FoV?

I know I've mentioned this before but they definitely said somewhere that level 15/ilvl 119 was their target at some point.
