Fine, go with obtuse.

On the bright side... there is a possibility, however small, that some day trump will tweet about something so horrifying that it will upset rav or foney or I and then all your getting upset every day for the last umpteen years, will have finally paid of...

So...it's a true test of wills now. Can you care longer than I can go without caring? Keeping in mind that not caring is a lot easier...

In the realm of therotical possibility it's conceivable that someday you might try caring again...

Who sets the standard for how a President should behave Bill Clinton ?
Dwight D. Eisenhower. He ditched his wartime piece on the side long before he ran. Had grace, decorum, humor, foresight, integrity.

But I cannot think of a president, not one, who can hold a candle to Fiorello LaGuardia for behavior, integrity, honesty, and humor. Would that we could get ones even half that good today.

Back in the day when politicians crossed and challenged party lines.

So what would actually make you care? Literally making things up is not a breaking point so then what is? It's rhetorical obviously since we're apparently not at that point yet so then what is it? How *** up does this have to get to get to the point where it breaks party lines and ideology doesn't matter? I guess I don't understand or relate to whatever your definition of caring is because maybe our investment in this all varies. I really don't know. What needs to happen for this to matter?

Not just for me, but for everyone. You might have to stop caring before anyone else starts. Maybe give the Tommy Tattle tale routine a little break.

No, this is absolutely my vantage point. We apparently all contributed to this outcome, arguably. I think we're both spectators with the same isle seats in this analogy but... what's the outcome, I guess? I'm enough invested in this where I'd hope it would would go one way versus the other, but, at this point, I feel like I'm out solely for self-preservation. It's not a strange or completely foreign place but it's a place I didn't think I'd be.

I can't change other people's outlook or opinion. I understand this. But what would it take to relate that what is going on right now is not normal or acceptable or sustainable?

I honestly don't know and I accept that this could be something generational that many of us here couldn't have experienced but... I don't know.

He's not wrong, not entirely correct but not wrong either.

First rule of the Universe is that absolutely nothing is free nor infinite. The wind we experience is just the shifting of air around due to the differences in temperature gradients caused by the earths rotation vs solar radiation. It's a bit more complicated but that's the general idea. That wind moves around in currents and wind power generation captures part of it and converts it into electricity. The wind kinetic energy that is captured for conversion isn't available anymore to carry thermal currents or do anything else Wind normally does.

So in theory, if you were able to build a device that captured 100% of wind kinetic energy, then directly behind it would be absolutely still with no motion in the air. Deployed on a large enough scale this would disrupt weather on a global scale by preventing thermal currents from traversing land masses. Realistically, we simply aren't capable of harnessing enough wind energy to matter.

The exact same thing happens to solar energy, by converting it into power we're preventing it from being absorbed into ground and atmosphere and thus could, in theory, cause the global temperature to drop if enough of it was absorbed.

Physics is a pretty harsh mistress, too bad most people have no ability to understand even the most basic concepts and prefer media provided and approved pseudoscience instead.

This also applies to Metaphysics. Which most people have zero concept of.

You're still downplaying Trump's behavior. That does *** all good. Has nothing to do with "sides" at this point.

I think it does. I was on this very website, years ago, complaining about Obama using the presidency as a celebrity vehicle. I said something to the effect of 'the president shouldn't be on talk shows, it's below his stature' and everyone laughed at square ole' quaint midwest mosin. I was told it didn't matter. so now this orange car saleman takes the next logical step in the downward spiral and HE'S the one who's 'destroying the dignity of the office'? I don't get it. this is, presumably what the dems wanted until it backfired, and one of their guys wasn't the big celebrity. idk wtf any of us are supposed to do. I didn't vote for trump, yet I'm inundated with *** about how evil a *** he is. I knew it in the first place, and his voters are just like a dog who ***on the carpet. they took the ***because their owner (america) wasn't paying attention to them. a scolding isn't what the dogs needs. the coasts should pay more attention to their dog, before it takes another big fat ***on the carpet in 2020.

There's a little known story called "The Boy Who Called Wolf". Unfortunately, the story ends after the real wolf shows up, wrecks some livestock, and the boy feels bad.

Now we're seeing what the story would have been like if the boy had continued to cry wolf even after the fact, every day, without fail. Maybe he's right, maybe he's not right, but the point is that nobody listens to him anymore, except for those who for some reason think they have something to gain from it.

Either way, the boy has some serious issues.
