Senators already saying there will be no vote on the House bill. Better luck next time. In the meantime, make sure to sit in front of the decaying mess that is Obamacare and get a good whiff before celebrating the fact that getting the rid of the carcass will take some time. Let me know when something legitimately better pops up and I'll consider it.
Still a better love story piece of legislation than Twilight Obamacare.

You can't make this ***up taken from her wiki:
Meyer had no experience as a writer of any kind and had never even written a short story before Twilight. She had considered going to law school because she felt she had no chance of becoming a writer

That's great, because I'm starting a novel already. It's bound to be a hit. Here's the opening paragraph:
Quote: Once there was a guy named Rav...uel. He was sooooooo cool. Super smart too. He liked talking to inferior people on the internet. They were sooooooo not cool. One day he beat up sooooooo many not cool guys. The respected him forever. Also, he was a vampire.
I'm working on a target demographic. I'm thinking of targeting nerds who spend a lot of time posting on websites for old MMOs. And I'll throw in some hooks for teenage girls too.

I'm still wondering why house republicans are about to throw parties or why anyone would be crying into their keyboards yet when this is still far from over... it's probably gonna be another month before the senate decides whether or not they will vote on it... when they do decide they can only afford to lose one vote... it is very likely that if they do pass it that there will be changes made to it and then you have to see if they will accept those changes in the house...
I guess we will see in a couple of months whether this will actually go through or not...
I still don't get why they didn't go about trying to repeal the entirety of the ACA... oh yay that's right too many people still want it around lol...
It won't take a month, as soon as the CBO comes out and reveals how terrible the bill would be for all Americans it will be dead in the Senate, and we will have Republican House members apologizing to their electorate for voting for such a terrible bill after 4 hours of debate and no CBO score. They already have GOP members lambasting the process. Its an embarrassment, and the Dems are laughing, as they should be.

The CBO score.... Isn't that the same thing that said that Obamacare would be super duper fantastic? Yeah, that belongs in the category of "reliable like the polls".

No, its not. And no, it really doesn't. Tho I am sure the WH will come out and attack the poor score, but that will do absolutely nothing to convince the Senate that anything other than shredding the bill is the right course of action. Its dead. The Senate always hated it, and all the House did was make it worse.

What's the worst that can happen? Obamacare is failing, some states have practically nothing in the way of exchanges anymore, and there's no way to redeem it aside from blowing it up. If Trump's plan is good, we all win. If the plan is bad, you have your path to single payer the next time Dems get into office. It's a win-win for you, so it would be wise to cease attacking the only thing preventing the current "healthcare system" from completely imploding on your precious Left.

The plan got practically zero vetting. "If Trump's plan is good" is something that could be assessed but it got passed anyway because Trump probably wanted something to tout as a win for his presidency so far. Whatever you think of the ACA, it circulated in Congress for over a year, receieved a CBO evaluation, and had multiple hearings with expert witnesses testifying on its prospects. None of that happened with the current bill, which was only made available days before the vote was set to take place.
"What's the worst that can happen" is a *** horrible way to legislate. This isn't just about political capitol and winning for the sake of football spiking photo-ops. It has real-life consequences so maybe think of it outside the normal partisan ***.

Yes, and a load of good that did us, huh? I'm sure all of these "experts" and "evaluations" were all completely non-partisan and unbiased too. You know, just like the bill itself *cough*.

I was just trying to calm down Vic the Defender. Besides, something has to happen to replace Obamacare. It can't stand, and kicking the repeal/replace down the road would only create more problems. Aside from that, partisan politics CANNOT be removed from the equation -- ever. Washington, the media, and the lobbyists will never allow it. A non-partisan health plan is a pipe dream. Each side has items that they will never budge on and are absolute deal breakers for the other side.

The plan got practically zero vetting. And ACA's vetting came from agencies that not only got it wrong, but got it wrong badly (CBO, which, knowing the Obama Administration, was probably told to lie about it). The insurance lobby vetted it because, if everything went right, they stood to make some serious cash from it all (you know, those healthy young individuals who are now forced to buy health insurance would not only pay for those who aren't healthy, but also then some. Plus, insurance agencies can charge for insurance people will never use, which, all things being equal, would be highly illegal and unethical in any other industry. How would you like to buy Dreamcast stock? Well, you don't have a choice now, do you? Now fork over $6000 a year or face a fine tax). The liberals wanted Obamacare because, when it crashed and burned like they planned it to do, they could say that single-payer is the only option and go socialist.
All of Obamacare's vetting was purely political. To say otherwise is not only severely dishonest, it shows how idiotic one really is.

Cbo will be touted as something bad but it will be irrelevant. The scores are only static, they cannot predict the consequences of the program.
Trump will just get up and tweet a storm to mitigate it. He'll go around the media like he always does. Dems will loose, yet again.

Well the reason the CBO is important here right now is that it has to come out with a report that shows the current plan will save money or it can't go forward in its current form as they're psssing this through a budgetary process known as reconciliation... idk... we will see what happens over the next few months with this...

Dead. On. Arrival.
Senate GOP rejects House Obamacare bill
'Any bill that has been posted less than 24 hours ... needs to be viewed with suspicion,' Sen. Lindsey Graham says.
Quote: After all the energy the House just expended on ramming through its Obamacare repeal, the Senate is about to start over.
“We’re writing a Senate bill and not passing the House bill,” said Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn). “We’ll take whatever good ideas we find there that meet our goals.”...
