Buildings, tanks and such are destroyed within 1 mile.
Kill radius via shiockwave is about 1.7 miles.
Deafness still occurs at 2 miles.
Windows shatter with potential to cause harm at 5 miles.
While OP is off, the area of significant effect (up to deafness range) is actually 12.56 square miles with a potential population density of 7563 people/square mile. Far more believable.
Whether the bomb was actually dropped in an area of said population is another story.
Actually, still
no
Afghanistan has a population density of 132 people
per square mile. Even
Kabul, the largest city in Afghanistan, does not have a population density anywhere near that (105 people/square mile).
And don't forget, this bomb exploded
in the mountains, which will shield most of the shock wave (or as you term it, kill wave) from major population centers on either side. The wave probably didn't even rattle windows within the 5 mile radius like you claim.
So, no, you are incorrect, because you assume that these terrorists live in an open field and/or in a city where there are more people per square feet than even Seattle.
