Nes Classic Edition

Now that this has been out for a few days. What is everyone's thoughts on it the system? I got one and I think it is fantastic.

They look awesome minus the short cords. Nintendo pulling their Amiibo ***and under-stocking it took the wind out of it's sales for me. I heard about a small game shop that ordered 90 and got 2. Walmart said they ordered 200 and got 12, a BestBuy employee I talked to said they put in for 100 and got 10.

If you kept your box for it and get bored you could probably still flip it on Ebay. Looks like they are going about 180-240 right now, will probably go up the closer we get to xmas.

How does the audio compare to the original hardware? A few of the games always sounded a bit off on VC.

Not available anywhere and the controller cord is pathetically short. No thanks, stick with emulation. Just another case of Nintendo getting in its own way.

I will not pay for emulation. Not because I can play them on the PC but supporting things like this will just bring more quick cash grabs for more low quality crap. I hope this is at least better than the Virtual Console because the emulation is garbage.

Eh, the already noted short cord controller issue is a major turn-off for me. Also, at the risk of killing the authentic nostalgia factor, the controllers need a menu button so that you don't have to get up and hit the reset button every time you want to load a save state or change games.

It just blows my mind how far games have come along with technology only to have this hampered by a stupidly short controller cord of all things. There's no excuse.

If they can fix those simple things, then I'll strongly consider it once they decide to have a production run that actually resembles demand.

Most of those games can be downloaded on your 3DS.

No short cords, better sound, and overall availability anywhere (plus you can just save the save states directly instead of doing the whole "Reset" deal)

Same can be done with the Wii/WiiU.

People are just buying into the nostalgia, not really thinking about what they are getting.

Nostalgia sells. That's why we need a fighting game based on Rosie the Riveter.
